A tweet from Republican Texas Gov. Rick Perry's verified account on Sunday night included a disparaging image of the Democratic district attorney who is at the center of his criminal indictment on charges of abuse of power. The tweet was later deleted, followed by another from Perry's account that disavowed the post.
The earlier tweet posted an unflattering mock image of Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg, who was convicted of drunken driving in April 2013. Perry vetoed funds to her office when she refused to resign, which led to a grand jury in Austin this month indicting Perry — who is a potential 2016 presidential candidate.
The caption on the tweet reads: 'I don't always drive drunk at 3x the legal blood alcohol limit ...'
The Associated Press reported that the bottom of the caption of the tweet read 'but when I do, I indict Gov. Perry for calling me out about it. I am the most drunk Democrat in Texas.'
Lehmberg's office did not lead the grand jury investigation against Perry. It was handled by Michael McCrum, a San Antonio-based special prosecutor who was assigned by a Republican judge.

A “disparaging image” of Lehmberg? More disparaging than the image she provided when she drove while blottoed, tried to use her office to get out of it when caught, made a big fool of herself on video and then refused to have the decency to resign her office afterward? Worse than THAT?
Unauthorized post but it was accurate. Rick Perry is stepping down as governor and the Red Austinites still aren’t happy.

She was given a kids gloves treatment at her roadside field sobriety test. 30 minutes of fresh air before the DWI team arrived (the first officer on the scene made no evaluation whatsoever).
The field test ran on an on for 30 minutes while she interrupted, repeatedly said how it was going to cost her her job, stumbled through the line-walk 3 times, refused to follow instruction, etc.
The officer even said that if she didn’t properly follow the roadside tests he was left with no choice but to haul her in (they did a bit of work to establish that she was DA).
Imagine what her BAC was BEFORE they brought her to the station (over an hour later)?

Heard a tale this weekend that LBJ invited a known drunken member of Congress (from Kentucky?) over for drinks one evening. LBJ drank water while his guest partook of liquor.
By the end of their session, LBJ had enough dirt to strongarm him into “negotiations” for a long time.
