Now a new study suggests that a simple blood test could soon allow doctors to diagnose clinical depression as easily as they check cholesterol.

Researchers at Northwestern University have developed the first blood test that analyzes levels of nine blood biomarkers associated with adult clinical depression. The results of their study were published Tuesday in the journal Translational Psychiatry.

The test looks at levels of nine RNA blood markers, which appear to be different among patients with diagnosed clinical depression versus those who do not have depression. RNA are the molecules that help to process DNA genetic code and carry out its instructions.

All XX will test positive. All XY will not care what the test says.

Well, my bet is the Feds will most certainly be crosschecking this on our Obamacare database to determine your next firearms purchase and correctly filled out paperwork.

Depression is not JUST some substances in the blood. Stupid thinking like that leads to the stupid idea that depression can be treated by suppressing those substances.

Pointless.

I have a tendency toward depression but simply don’t give in to it.

Also monthly “infusions” and “LPK” (This Perfect Day)

I was a workers comp case manager long enough to know that depression “appears” to be situational rather than chemical-like maybe someone who is unable to work for some time due to an injury gets depressed-and that is why comp insurance pays for counseling/therapy....

You are not describing clinical depression. It is not something you can wave away your hand.

“What could possibly go wrong?”

EXACTLY. 98% of the people that go to shrinks have NOTHING WRONG with them. The other 2% need some SERIOUS MEDS, such as for skitz. For the 98%, they risk having their lives TOTALLY RUINED. They need to STAY AWAY from this bunch, as they literally put their lives in danger by trusting this bunch.
