Over the past couple of years, I’ve seen hundreds of meteors, each while looking at one area of the northern part the night sky for a few seconds—nearly always at the same point in the north-northeast (same elevation).

I checked out the page at the link you posted. VERY interesting reading.

I’ve always found the NC barrier islands to be very interesting. It’s as if the ocean swallowed up the far eastern part of the state, leaving a narrow strip of land. Those were probably mountains tens of millions of years ago. I live in the Appalachian mountains(one of the oldest in the world), and it’s fascinating how they used to be as high and rugged as the Rocky mountains, but have been weathered down over time. The Appalachian/Blue Ridge mountains were also a natural barrier to the early Americans going West. People like Daniel Boone found a good way to get through it though.

(damn did I ever go off-topic... LOL)

I was driving Hwy 91 through Corona last night and I saw them in the hills heading toward Pomona. Gene Barry was on their trail.

I think the Carolina Bays were formed when huge chunks of space debris crashed into the glaciers over Lake Michigan and shot huge blocks of ice all the way to the Carolinas. SC- time to post that book again.

I’m not sure...but, I won’t argue with that possibility.
