Graham Noakes, 41, said he was astonished when staff at the fast food chain’s outlet in St George’s retail park refused to give him a hand-wipe because it was against its Halal policy. (more here) Staff said this was because the wipes are soaked in an alcohol-infused liquid. Alcohol is forbidden in the Muslim Holy book, the Quran. This is dhimmitude and submission on steroids. Of course, the leader of the Muslim community advised of the potential for “backlash” and “islamophobia.” *crack that whip!*

It’s isopropyl alcohol, not ethanol. I use alcohol wipes on ATM keyboards.

If the Koran can’t be interpreted to mean drinking alcohol, which obviously was the intent, then there really is no hope for reform of that crazy, medieval religion.
Can somebody check to see if oxygen is also forbidden in that book? Maybe we have been going about this all wrong.
