IMO there is no better place on the net to find out what’s going on.
Sometimes it makes me mighty mad though.

I use FR as my jumping off point for the Internet, where I go to find out what is going on in the world.
I don’t watch television, haven’’t since about 1997. Don’t read papers. Don’t read rags like Time. Don’t listen to radio.
I come to FR every day, and investigate things from here. Normally, I would have worried about ideological tunnel vision, but it is pretty clear the way things are laid out, I am not missing anything.
When it is a military issue, this is where I come. I need information about aviation, there are good sources here at FR. Energy? People like Thackney. And so on.
I do miss some of the earlier folks as well who don’t come here anymore, have been kicked off, or have passed away.
I've only got you beat by a couple months, but man, it seems like I've been reading here forever.
I think I started lurking in about 2003, when I was a member of another conservative forum. Freeper Josh Painter used to post links back to FR on that site, which led me here.
I've been sick with the addiction ever since.
