Is hockey an official sport down there? Here it is still considered “club” and has its own league. It’s not part of the association WPIAL that runs the other sports.
I don’t know if the school districts fund any part of it. It’s definitely growing though.

Fun times at the end. They desperately wanted to score just to not be shut out, the refs called a penalty on one of our kids for being happy he made a tackle.
They called a time out with 14 seconds left, 4th down on our 7 yard line.
The crowd was all screaming. This was for bragging rights. The rivals came out of timeout, clock starts running cause of mercy rules and they couldn’t get a play off.
Well, I live in Texas and constantly hear the liberals from the northeast make fun of us. I’m sure they laughed at nurses from a Texas hospital being “dumb enough” to get ebola. I would never wish a disease on anyone, even a godless liberal - so maybe you are right. Some would take it wrong.
Congrats! I loved HS football. We have no affiliation with any team here but I keep up with my old HS and the one in the small town where we lived at one time.
Not that I really care about overt critiques, everyone’s tastes are different ... Too many real-life concerns to engage in pointless flame wars in an opinion forum anyway.

Some people seem to live in a world where the trivial pursuit of flame wars is important-like you, I don’t even pretend to understand that-it seems counterproductive to the healthy exchange of ideas. I’ve gotten to the point that I avoid commenting on a thread if I see sniping there, even if I’m interested in the subject and the opinions. I’m always happy to not see it here at WFTD-we do all appear to be adults.
Several of us have noticed that even a long time freeper, who is conservative and never would be anything other than a conservative, can get jumped on some threads for something someone else misinterpreted or decided was not conservative ENOUGH for them. I tend to stick to this thread most of the time
