It’s just normal for people to stick to their comfort zone, I’m sure that most FReepers concentrate on a few selected threads/topics the majority of the time. Some people though do live to get into a good scrap —verbal or physical— but hey, to each his own.

I’ve always enjoyed wordplay, nuance & satire, along with the constructive political discourse ... And it’s welcome to participate in discussions where people have their heads on straight (for the most part ;).

While at the ranch store yesterday, I picked up a big bag of Husky girl’s favorite all-natural treats-large pieces of puffy beef innards of some kind-they look-and smell-just like chicharrones, except they are darker in color-she loves crunching them up.

While looking for the wild bird seed, I saw a display of the cutest dog cookies from a company called Three Dogs Bakery-they looked just like sandwich cookies for humans-in rows in a little plastic tray. Totally charmed, I plunked down the $7 for a package of the carob with peanut butter filling flavored ones-even though I just knew that I was going to regret the purchase.

Husky girl went wild over the cookies right away, prancing to the fridge to beg for more every time I went into the kitchen, and even ignoring the beef thingees until she finally figured there would be no more cookies for the evening. Midget girl managed to take a tiny bite from one that was on the coffee table, and tried to carry the whole cookie away in her mouth-that cat has never shown interest in a dog treat...

What you referred to has happened to me a time or two in the past-and I don’t call being vicious and intolerant being more “conservative”-I call it being “nasty” and maybe even narcissistic.

I’ve been trashed and practically called a communist for having a degree in social work, even though I changed careers in 2001-all I can say is that since I was paying for college anyway, it made sense to me to get a degree in something I could use to make a living...

Only once in a while?

They will announce the playoff pairings on Monday evening. We should get a 5 seed, maybe a 4 if they want to disrespect one of the other conference champs. It’s happened before.

They should roll next week in the first round at home. I’ll be in Switzerland so hope I can see them in a quarterfinal the following week.

I hope it works out that way so you don’t miss out.
