A dozen travelers being monitored for Ebola in Trenton

TRENTON, N.J. (WPVI) -- Officials in Trenton, New Jersey have confirmed that they are monitoring a number of travelers who have recently returned from the west African nations fighting the Ebola crisis. And the news has raised some concerns among emergency responders in the city.

Health officials won't say exactly how many are undergoing this 21 day monitoring right now, but they do say no one is showing symptoms.

The fire department raised some concerns after learning that there is a list of those being monitored, but that first responders didn't know that.

The state health department says about 100 people in New Jersey who have traveled from west Africa recently are currently being monitored for Ebola symptoms.

It's believed roughly a dozen are living in Trenton.

This is so stupid, just ban flights from Africa, sure some will travel via other countries, but if we ban flights most other countries will do so, some already have, plus they have passports showing travel from Africa, you can quarantine those people, it will cut way back on this foolishness.

"Monitoring" is PC speak meaning they are all about town.

Trenton Makes, the World Takes.

I have no idea what. That’s what the bridge said.

Trenton used to be home to several famous American Potteries (e.g. Stangl, Lenox) and the Roebling Wire Works (used on the Brooklyn Bridge etc.)

I was on a flight from Chicago to Texas weekend before last and the guy sitting next to me had a west african accent and was using the arabic characters on the entertainment screen that was on the back of the seat.

We’ll see in 21 days if I have ebola or not. :-(

The fire department raised some concerns after learning that there is a list of those being monitored, but that first responders didn't know that.

And there it is. The Austin, TX local evening news said a couple days ago it's EMS weren't prepared. First Responders will never know what they're walking into until it's too late. Same with neighbors, delivery men, salesmen, etc. who happen to knock on a door with Ebola inside. A week ago, it was on the news that someone who flew into Austin was being monitored. Ok, so is the person still in Austin or a few hundred miles away? Are they making soup runs and bowling? No one knows. There are probably thousands of "monitorings" around the country.

The airports that are allowing ebola carriers in are in New York, New Jersey, Washington DC, Atlanta, and Chicago. I guess Obama’s policy of refusing to use any common sense will eventually cause much distress to a blue state.

With the blessings of Christie, eh? Will they be permitted to visit him in person? I’m about 10 minutes away. No worries. Since PA doesn’t charge tax on food and clothes we have lots of Trentonians shopping at the Walmart my sister visits. Yum.

“Trenton Makes, The World Takes”

I’ve viewed that sign for decades traveling up and down the Boston-Washington corridor.

And my thought was always, Well, why don’t you silly gits try selling it before they steal it. And quit bitchin’ about it already.”

If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.

Bring out your dead! The Dark Man cometh! Bring out your dead! The Dark Man cometh! Bring out your......

(Since all records of obama's past were lost in a tragic boating accident and fire, no one can be certain that the guy in the red circle isn't him...)

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...
