God bless and keep that brave little girl

Is everybody afraid to say it just might be that the hand of God or the essences of her loved ones guided this young girl to the farmhouse?

It's a New Year's Day miracle.

Google defines “disorientate” as a British verb, “another term for disorient.” They use “disorient” in the text of the article. I am not sure I understand the distinction.

A sad story.

The Seneca is a two-engine plane, and this reminds me of the old saying "With engine failure, the second engine just takes the plane to the scene of the accident."

Two things come to mind.

A candle can be seen up to 30 miles away.

Or she followed a star.

Every kid knows about the North Star....and Christmas is a refresher course.

Nighttime was an advantage and it came down to basics...walk to the light....

One amazing but very sad story. Her heart must hurt so bad.

I’m certain the family will invite Larry to meet with her.

According to the article, it was hard to find because it was not smoking or burning, and was in an area not heavily populated.

And the weather wasn't good enough to use an aircraft. All the airports in that area were reporting ceilings of around 300 ft and low vis, temp and dew points right around freezing.

Tough to find a small plane in those conditions.

"With engine failure, the second engine just takes the plane to the scene of the accident."

That's why I like singles... Only half the chance of losing an engine.

Judging by the name of the deceased daughter (Piper), this was a family that must of enjoyed flying immensely.

I’m hoping that a friend or family member heard Larry’s interview on FNC and contacted FNC to get his info so that they could see each other again - I could see them becoming lifelong friends. One could tell by his comments and voice that he was a very kind and caring man. IIRC one of the hosts asked him how he could keep from crying as at least 1 of them was getting choked up and/or said they had tears in their eyes. He said he got teary-eyed (paraphrasing).

I agree about him not being allowed to ride with her in the ambulance. While I totally believe in and support the rule of law and understand that we need regulations and prtocols, sometimes one needs to use common sense and have a heart when they look at a situation. She had just been through a terrible accident, lost her parents, walked through terrible terrain in a strange place barefoot, was frightened, and had obviously bonded with Larry. He treated her kindly, helped her and did all the right things (while I totally support child protection, he obviously wasn’t a threat to her in any way). He could have held her hand and helped sooth her fears. Tucker Carlson said at least a couple of times that he didn’t think what the EMTs did was right and they should have overlooked protocol in this situation.

Interesting point about the candle. Following the north star just after Christmas gave me goose bumps.

The old protocols for tracking ELTs have been altered for a while, and may have further changed since my own ES days came to an end. In any event, once you get into rugged country, inclement weather, etc, it can take a while to spot an a/c.

I'm probably wrong (I'm used to it), but if I were an EMT, I believe I'd have put "Larry" into the ambulance for that poor little girl regardless of any rules. If it ended my EMT days, so be it.

Does that timeline seem a little off? It took them 4 1/2 hours to find a downed plane? It couldn’t have been far from the house where girl ended up.

It was dark and according to another poster terrain is rough
with downed trees and brush

Would take time to round up search crew and start a search ....

Lyon County, KY is 80 miles or so north west of Nashville, TN.
Assuming he was returning to Nashville from Florida he may have been lost and ran out of fuel ...
absent any fire at the crash site it's a possibility.

With decades of PC liberals promoting child molesters and perverts to freely walk among us its not difficult to understand the EMT’s decision.

Common sense is no longer common

........also the EMT’s could have allowed Larry to ride up front in the cab and deal with the hospital personnel when they arrived, they may have more common sense and ability to think out of the box than the EMTs and allowed him to sit any where he chose for as long as he chose. But then again a nice guy like Larry is not as obnoxious and defiant as I.
Larry will get his reward and as me ole Maw used to say,Now or Later
