A 30-year-old man accused of killing his millionaire Manhattan father is a suspected arsonist and spoiled brat who may have murdered Daddy because the old man cut his allowance by a measly $200, sources said Monday.

Thomas Gilbert Jr. was already hiding a dark past — including his status as the current prime suspect in a Hamptons arson targeting a wealthy rival — before allegedly killing his respected Wall Street father, Thomas Gilbert Sr., 70, sources told The Post.

The pampered Princeton grad went on his alleged murderous rampage amid a months-long feud with his father over what he still thought was his rightful due — despite his parents giving him the best education money could buy and even subsidizing his surfer-dude, gym-rat lifestyle when he got older, sources said.

Another source said the son suffered from severe obsessive-compulsive disorder and had been off his medication at the time of the slaying.

The crime can't be attributed to pure evil, there's always some disorder or other psycho-babble to explain these losers behavior.

I sure hope rich mommy doesn't buy him a high-priced 'Loyyer'.

Psychobabble is worth a lot more $$$ to a loyyer than evil is.

Before I care too much about ANY of the people in this story, any idea where they all stood in the political spectrum or their relationship to Bloomberg and DiBlasio? Sitting so close Ground Zero, it should be obvious, but one never knows.

Gilbert Sr. “had been giving him $2,400 a month for rent and $600 for spending money,

Oh give me a frickin' break! You provide your kid with a $2,400 per month apartment and only give him $600 in spending money with the intent to reducing it to only $400?

Who wouldn't be p[ssed off enough to kill the penny pinching father?

If he wasn't rich, no one would be talking about severe obsessive-compulsive disorder and medication.

Hard to call a 30 year old “kid,” but where did the kid get a gun in the gun-free zone known as Manhattan? It couldn’t be because daddy was one of the wealthy elite and received special treatment from the NYPD, was it?

This plays out every day on a larger scale across the Welfare States of the West. When governments in France, or Greece or the UK or the US try to cut benefits, the recipients explode into violence because they feel entitled to other peoples' money.

It’s sad to think that somewhere in a hollow in Appalachia or the ‘hood in Detroit, there are kids who would love to be able to get into Princeton and would flourish if they got that opportunity.

But no, the slot was given to this POS because his dad had big bucks.

The apple rots more with each passing day.

The details: small hedge fund, leveraged, almost no outside money. His Dad was not so smart either. 3K per month was probably a stretch, to just give away.

Cut them off, and early. Make them borrow some money for college. Otherwise they think they are on a payroll for like.

Police were trying to determine if he bought the weapon legally.

Yep, if he bought the gun illegally he would be in a lot more trouble!
