Is there any proof or evidence of this deflated ball stuff? I know that’s a quaint idea but it used to be required before a conviction.

Pats fan here. This was published today: "Sources tell SportsCenter 5′s Mike Lynch that D’Qwell Jackson, of the Indianapolis Colts, intercepted a pass before the end of the first half of the AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots Sunday night and told his equipment manager that the ball felt under-inflated, leading to the so-called ‘deflategate’ controversy. According to sources, the equipment manager then informed the Colts’ head coach, Chuck Pagano, who then informed the team’s general manager, Ryan Grigson. Grigson then called the National Football League’s director of field operations, who then called the locker room and spoke with the officials on the field at halftime. During the first play coming back from halftime, there was a delay to the game while official changed the football being used on the field. Sources told Lynch that several footballs were taken out of play during the game Sunday night, but that’s not unusual and there have been times in previous games that officials have changed footballs during play due to factors such as air temperature changed that cause the ball to over or under inflate. The NFL said it is now investigating the Patriots because of the complaint that was made. “We are looking into it,” league spokesman Brian McCarthy wrote in an email to The Associated Press on Monday. “We do not have anything further to add at this point.” So, according to this there were underinflated balls and that the referees corrected the problem at halftime. Lets review the scoring in the game: 1st 2nd 3rd 4th Indy 0 7 0 0 NE 14 3 21 7 If the ball inflation problem was corrected at half time which was obviously giving NE a huge advantage(sarc). WHY, did they score 28 unanswered points in the second half with properly inflated balls?

No matter which team sent the ball out onto the field, the officials handle that ball after EVERY PLAY.

You mean to tell me the officials wouldn’t notice a squishy ball after dozens of plays throughout the game? Even if the “trick” ball is used in only one play, that ball is still tossed to the ref at the end of the play so he can mark scrimmage for the next play. Are the officials cheating too?

I know the Pats (full disclosure: MY home team) have a tarnished record but this is silly. This is just piling on to a bad reputation.

Something about them filming game signs of other coaches which sounds genius to me. They should ban players who move to other teams from telling their new team the secrets of their old team then.

Are you saying they “voodooed” that TE from GB who muffed the onside kick?

With a win like that, I am almost ready to start chanting “Eye of Newt and Toe of Frog” over my favorite conservatives! LOL!

And since I am female, nobody can accuse me of deflated balls.

Probably used the same type of black magic that Ohio State used against Alabama.

Who knew that black magic simply means fielding a better team?

Of course, if you count the number of penalties, Seattle takes the crown.

surprisingly, if you look at penalty yardage, well that would be the patriots. and seattle is 4th.

Neat chart. If you go by net yards Seattle is the worst, with the Pats 80 yards behind. Seattle leads in pre-snap, which are all 5 yarders which is probably why they “lose” the yardage race to NE. Almost half of Jacksonville’s penalties were declined, that’s a pretty sad stat.

...and the Vikings were caught/filmed actually putting their footalls in front of a forced-air heater during a game this year to warm up cold balls to make them more flexible and grippable. Wasnt a big deal.
