Any stories of Obama buyer's remorse?

Posted on 02/14/2015 7:39:21 AM PST by eekitsagreek

During this week, I met a few people who were at one point enthusiastic Obama supporters. They really believed all the "Hope and Change" stuff but now feel they have been duped.

One person who is self-employed signed up for Obamacare and now really, really regrets it. Another person who is very religious was furious at his support for gay marriage.

I can certainly understand your point.

What I believe it will take is shutting it down. If you keep feeding rats, you’re going to get more of them. There has to be a revolt. We’ve got to find a way to quit funding our demise.

I wouldn’t know...I’ve all but ceased any communication/interaction with any who voted/supported that POS for a 2nd time.

They’re too damned stupid and I don’t need the frustration of listening to lies and damned lies and having the possibility of that stupidity eventually rubbing off on me.

There will be even more. Add in the people who either lose their jobs after January and/or had their hours cut to under 30 hours per week. Don't worry, we'll see a lot of them here, along with many of us, where their moment of clarity will have fully arrived:

Here's a good pic:

You’re right. It needs to be relabeled and reorganized.

To what end? They WON’T go all Alinsky on the NEW name?

I agree on re-branding the Tea Party; and also an outreach to younger voters. I went to the local Tea meeting last week; the turnout was poor and the age group was very senior.

I believe that the key to swaying younger voters to conservative values lies primarily in internet and privacy issues, followed by tax and employment issues.

As far as a re-brand, I’d go with something like:
“COUNTY NAME Conservative Coalition”
eg. Sonoma Conservative Coalition

re: They’ll still love Obama even while he feeds them to the Lions

I don't think Obama would ever feed my relatives to the lions. He needs people like them. On the other hand, although I know my relatives love me and my family, if there comes a time when Obama decides to feed us to the lions, I am pretty certain that they would find a way to justify Obama’s actions. They are that committed to him.

If your relatives are US citizens then your feelings are pitiful for you and for the Nation that elected such a person.

"They probably still believe in the ideas, they just think Obama must be doing it wrong"

While I freely acknowledge that most of the news for free thinking people is bad, for the non-committed-lefty-new-world-order jerk (i.e - say - the middle 15% of the country ...)

Obama has gotten what he wanted. What was blocked he's done through executive order. America is seeing the results, even if most are afraid to express their opinion of it. It's a God awful mess, something any of use could have and did tell them. But ... America is bearing witness to the capital 'S' 'State.' Some liberals are suffering the consequences of their wishes. Obama is too egotistical to make any excuse that it would have worked, but 'the Republicans beat me.'

So, from Obama's perspective, the reality is 'Here is the Liberalism I have gifted you!' So, maybe we enter one of the periods where we've seen enough and had enough.

The 'but':
The history of man if fraught with him suffering the consequences of his own absolutely stupid movements. If American 'man' does continue down this path despite the clear consequences in front of him -> then it's a phenomenon happening at the level of the basic sin/pride in mankind - it's not a uniquely American failure. It's been cyclical throughout history. It's just hard to tell if this is temporary stupidity, or the structural type - the original sin type -> in which case, mankind is in for a very long case of spiritual suffering. America is the world's immune system at this point in history. Once it becomes diseased past a tipping point - and arguably it is teetering on accelerating the disease, then man is in for a dark period of suffering.

Maybe that sounds dramatic ... but even with Carter, Liberalism primarily expressed itself as stupidity and recklessness. This time it's expressed as explicitly destructive and intentional. If there is a such thing as evil, then that is what's behind Obama and more specifically what's behind what's behind Obama. Obama is a a cardboard storefront to make people think they willingly walked into the store.

I will never understand how anyone can be so willingly blind and stupid to go into that store.

One of the Commandments SHOULD have been "Thout shalt not commit others to suffering by thy intentional choice of blindness, ignorance, laziness and cowardice."

Whoo ... glad I got all that out without yelling and only one capital word.

Sorry, don’t buy the Premise.

There aren’t any. All the complainers would Vote Obama in for a Third Term if they could.

They might be a little upset with The King, but they all think Obama really tried to help them out but those Mean Republicans like Ted Cruz stopped him because he is sort of Black. Obama is blameless because of his Compassion.

Besides, I have no respect for Idiots that would Vote for Obama not only once, but twice. They are either closet Socialists or they are dumber than a Box of Barbara Boxers.
They can’t take it back, so this is an exercise in futility.

They had their chance to right the wrong in 2012.
Too little, too late.

They thought only people like US would be the only ones to get screwed over when they Voted for Obama and now they cry. Boo friggin hoo.

Most members of my Democrat family are quietly devastated about Obama, but won’t say it out loud. He’s a huge embarrassment to them now.

Another person who is very religious was furious at his support for gay marriage.

His support for killing babies inside and outside the womb didn't offend this "religious" person?

Totally off topic but...you teach voice? Like singing?

What would be your top four or five key points that separate a well trained voice from the average joe?

I ask because I’ve been recording some songs recently and my vocals are, well, pretty lame. I’ve got good pitch and a good basic tone but somehow I just sound like some dude who’s singing rather than an actual singer, if that makes sense.

You got any tips?

Absolutely! Glad to share!

First of all, every note needs to be supported. That means your pelvis is tilted forward so your back is straight, and your ribcage is as high as it will go with your shoulders relaxed. Then hold that position still while you open your mouth and mentally AIM the tone “high in the back of your skull” and let it resonate THERE.

This takes a lot of practice. Resonate all of your notes there, not in the chest or the face.

Don’t have too much air, but rather work at having an equilibrium of pressure so the air doesn’t rush out past your vocal cords and cause your voice to ‘crack”.

And most importantly of all SING ON THE VOWELS.

FReep me for more..i am happy to share.

Thank you!

I’ve been trying my best to sing on the vowels and form my vowels correctly. I think my posture is okay. I haven’t been aiming for the back of my skull though. I will give that a try.

It’s kind of a secret, and not all vocal teachers subscribe to it. But if you look at the very best vocalists out there you will hear that all the notes are of a seamless quality, and don’t bounce around the face and throat, but seem to be coming from high in the room. that is control! :-)
