Many years ago there were just three cartels who were well organized and who controlled 99% of the drug trade into the United States. The DEA chopped off the heads of the cartels and they fractured into dozens of groups and the vacuum created also allowed small independent operators to enter the business. This created the perfect free market; the most efficient supply system imaginable. The price of cocaine dropped dramatically. I recall reading that in 1970 a gram was $100 dollars. Today I’ve read it’s a fraction of that.
Essentially, the same is happening to the terrorists. They have developed a wide-spread lose network which is essentially crowd funded. The central control is gone. Since terrorists don’t need sophisticated equipment to cause terror they can cause no end of damage by going after soft targets, like school children at bus stops. Imagine something like the Beltway Snipers who paralyzed the DC area for three weeks; now multiply that by dozens. The more successful each is the more who will join in the game.
By-the-way, did anybody notice Obama is bringing 75,000 Syrians over here?
