Records smashed as February 2015 comes to an end ( Cold in NY )

BUFFALO, N.Y. – An excruciatingly cold and unseasonably snowy February is coming to an end, and when western New York leaves it behind, it will be leaving behind the shattered remains of some century old or more records.

February of 2015 wasn’t just cold, it was arctic cold. Zero days have been above freezing. That has led to an incredibly high amount of damage from water main breaks to accidents from slippery cold, and it’s also created a risk of future damage. Without reaching temperatures which would allow a temporary thaw, snow has piled up in some places to incredible amounts.

In the record books, February in Buffalo will be mentioned for years to come, and if records hold as long as some of the shattered records remained in place, then it could be talked about for centuries.

1.The most important record broken firmly names February as the coldest month in Buffalo’s history. The average temperature each day was about 11 degrees. The second coldest year prior was in 1934

But they will later on claim 2015 was the ‘warmest year ever”.
Just watch.

We (rightfully) joke about the idiotic theory that global warming is causing all this cold, but believe it or not, I see people defending that kookery online nearly every day.

And they’ll do it with a straight face. And we should then laugh in their faces.

I have heard from more than one person whose house is serviced by town water. Or was. The pipes underneath the streets are freezing. No water for you!

OK. Stand back and let the pseudo scientists explain why the record cold is really due to globull warming.

I think I'll drive my SUV an extra time around the block to help.

Just an historical fact. The winter of 1887-88 was one of the coldest on record. It was similar to this winter. It culminated in the Blizzard of 1888 which occurred in the second week of March after some warming had occurred. Hundreds died.

Back in 1990, we had a few days reach 110 degrees in the shade where there was shade.
This year, we barely broke 90 if ever.
And yet we are told that it was “warmest evah!!1!”

I’d pay good money to see them spin a year where we never break 80, then 70.

My oldest daughter is a college student.

The three snowiest winters in the entire history of Boston have all occurred in my daughter's lifetime.

It's really hard to sell me on the idea that there is some sort of warming trend going on.

And of course you have at least one idiot in the comments section trying to tie it to “climate change”.

Just wait until next year...

Soon a "balmy" 10 degrees average will be the norm...

I'm one of those people that hate, loathe, despise those 80 and 90 degree days when it is hot and humid. I am forever grateful to whoever invented air conditioning. But I don't recall too many of those uncomfortable days last summer...and I'm betting this coming summer will be even cooler. But the global warming climate change zealots will be desperately trying to blame my SUV for it, even if they have to twist logic into pretzels to do it!

True dat. Here in North Texas the summer high temps usually hit 105 - 107, but last summer we only had a couple of 100 degree days.

I'm acutely aware of the temps because I work outdoors.

If anything, the planet is cooling - not warming.

Yeah, the global warming cultists seem to pop up on any thread about weather or climate. It's become a religion to some people.

I’m recalling plenty of 70 degree days, and wet this past summer.
Part of the reason they did away with “global” warming, if the planet really were warming as they claim it would be a universal global experience.
Instead, they point to local higher temps here and there as “proof” while simultaneously ignoring much lower temps elsewhere as being only “local weather, not climate!!1!”
They also ignored July ice on the great lakes.

Yes, they like demonstrating the indoctrination from their stupid their college professors.

Sadly, most college graduates' analytical faculties are so atrophied, they really believe it's education.

Few of them fail to notice that most of them follow in lock step groupthink, and that few of their fellows ever have an original thought. They're utterly convinced of the rightness of their left-liberal conditioning.

They, of course, accuse conservatives of the same thing, but it's far from being true, as a quick perusal of any thread on this forum will soon show. In fact, our Achille's Heel is in the fact that we conservatives are such independent thinkers, that it's almost impossible to get us all on the same page.

Not so with libs, who are by and large, extremely conformist within the realm of their world view.

My great-grandfather lost most of the cattle on his Wyoming ranch in the Blizzard of 1888.

Global Warming: climate change that smashes temperature records across the country.

(It’s getting harder and harder for the global warming/climate change nutjobs to convince the ignorant peasants that global warming/climate change is busily frying the planet, isn’t it? Still, all the record breaking cold in the world isn’t going to stop the “Progressive” media from spreading “the planet if frying” myth, now will it? After all, we now know that global warming actually makes things colder, much colder, don’t we? But remember, the planet is frying!)

BTW, word to the wise, eat only the white global warming, never the yellow ...
