Receiving in a real world full of electrical noise is going to be a challenge. Can this be done digitally without any tuned circuits?
Transmitting will be easier, to be sure.

worlds first all-digital radio transmitter ABSOLUTE BULLCRAP. Experimental all-digital transmitters have been around for years. The ultra-wideband researches have been at it since at least the late 80's, when I became aware of it. Probably earlier.
