A Bayonne robber's plan to steal from a man he knew may have gone off without a hitch -- but the would-be thief's heist fell apart when his mask fell off, authorities said.

Arthur A. Ascolese, of the 100 block of West 48th Street, was charged with robbery, burglary and a weapons offense related to a folding knife, the criminal complaint says.
