Bob Schieffer could barely contain his outrage at Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) for daring to warn the Iranian leadership that any nuclear deal would have to be ratified by the Senate, under the U.S. Constitution, to be binding.

The newscasts have been just awful. When the talking heads say that the US Senate sent a letter about intending to be involved in approving a deal or lifting sanctions, they don't even mention that it's a Constitutional obligation of the US Senate to "advise and consent" and ratify any treaty!

I wonder if those reading the scripts know that. Meanwhile, all of this anger from Obama makes one thing obvious. That would be that Obama had NO INTENTION of having the US Senate ratify the deal. He was going to say it's a done deal, and the Republican leader would cave. Tom Cotton prevented that.

JMHO

I saw tom cotton eviscerate the old mans argument with cool calculated answers that shows the mettle of the new crop of senators.

The whole letter fiasco was another dumb ass stunt that blew up in the Republicans face. Do any if them really think the Irainian mullahs give a rats ass what some Republican Senators think? It did do one thing....gave the media a stick to beat the Republicans with and cover for Hillary.

The letter did one more thing. It put Obama on notice he cannot pull an end run around Congress and the American people. The little Bonaparte got his well deserved comeuppance.

It would have been better if Obama had been put on copy.

Can’t be that dumb, it managed to piss off Obama, Jarrett, and their Iranian buddies and keep the sellout in the news .... so at least it’s on the right track

THE LETTER was not a fiasco. From Iran's response, it seems they were unaware that any deal Obama made would have to be ratified by the US Senate. Tom Cotton was absolutely correct to pre-empt yet another unconstitutional Obama executive action.

It's interesting who didn't support it in the Republican Party and McCain seems to be backing off. One can only conclude they're Democratic plants doing Obama's works in their roles as bogus Republicans.

I guess you failed to notice that 3/4 of the American Public hates the idea of Iran getting nukes. Cotton and the Senators sending this open letter stopped that, or at least slowed it down and exposed the issue to many people who were ignorant of the fact that the traitorous regime of the Dear Leader were even negotiating with Iran, much less giving away the store.

This was a brilliant move. A slap in the face to the Dear Leader and the traitors who would sell us out. The shrillness of the rats and their stuck-pig reactions show just how right it was.

I actually laugh out loud whenever Liberals call ANYONE a “traitor”.

Liberals (read: Closet Bolsheviks) have been urinating on and defacing the US since the 1920’s. They established secret alliances with the Soviets and the Chinese. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

It’s like Jesse Jackson complaining that someone is shaking him down for cash.
