If the rest of the all the smartphone manufacturers in the world can get by on their 7% of the profits, while Apple, by itself, gets 93% of the profits in the smartphone market ... well ... more power to them ... LOL ...

You guys love to pull goofy numbers out of your you-know-what. You sound like a Hillary pollster... "93% of Americans want Hillary as president"!

It might sound goofy to you, but that’s what Apple has done ... and it’s quite amazing!

Besides, if someone gets stuck in the Apple trap by buying one Apple thing (like a PC) they're pretty much stuck having to stick with Apple if they want other devices to interact with what they already have.

Not true. Millions of Apple Mac users run Windows on their Macs. I do, when the urge strikes me (not as often as in the past). And lots of non-Apple devices work on the Mac, always have. My first iPod I bought I used exclusively on my Windows PC, but got tired of the hassles of viruses and blue screens of death. True, I was downloading free stuff from suspect sites, but I've never encountered losing control of my Mac like what happens with Windows PC. Macs give a hell of a lot more guaranteed up-time, and the products work very well as an integrated eco-system. So believe the FUD you wish, while others are wildly satisfied.

Apple users don't seem to care that their stuff is generally inferior. They really only care that they can keep up with the neighbors by having the latest Apple thingie.

Not true. I really like Apple because it's so easy to do what I want on it.

I am an early Apple buyer ... over 20 years ago. Not everyone had a computer at that time. A friend of mine at work bought his on the same day as I bought mine. I was up and running on my own in no time. A long story short ... his PC was working in about a week after daily phone calls to tech support. I was making great looking fliers for a group I was in. That was back in the day when you just dropped a font on the Apple HD icon to install. People were in awe since I did not have i very long. Also, met up with a friend online and we decided in my second week to do C-U-See Me from Cornell University. It was so fun teleconferencing back then ... the Japanese universities had the best CU SeeMe sites!!! I joined the Los Angeles MacIntosh Group which then was huge with thousands of members and we had so much fun meeting on weekends and meeting on our BBS. Having an Apple has been wonderful!

If you use any tech at all, you’re most likely buying from liberals. I just saw an article on how close Google is getting with the 0 admin. Microsoft is every bit as bad.

Just don’t single out Apple as somehow worse than the rest. (That said, Cook should go...not because he’s gay, but because he’s not that smart...)

“Most of their stuff is actually made by Samsung. Apple does do it’s own software though, which is why they’re mostly crap.”

Apple software is the envy of all of its competitors. Google certainly flatters it by imitation!

That said, you’re completely wrong on your other point. Apple designs its Arm processors for instance - and they’re best in class.

You seem awfully focused on homosexuality. Does that subject come to your mind frequently.

“The numbers also show that America got what it wanted by electing Obama. I’m not overly impressed by the numbers.”

‘The numbers’ do not show that. They show a lot of dissatisfaction with 0. Apple’s numbers are stratospheric by comparison.

Numbers lie far less than most people... :-)

“LOL...sure it is.”

It sure is, based both on the satisfaction levels of Apple customers, and the degree to which it’s imitated.

You should go to a Windows developer conference sometime and check out all the Mac laptops. LOL indeed

Been to more than I care to remember, and never saw a one. In fact, Apple was always the butt of the jokes made by real programmers.

That's a question one would expect to see the DUmpster Kids asking. What's your screen name over there?

I guess you’re avoiding answering my question and choose instead to attack the questioner. Your obsession with homosexuality and need to bring it up on Apple threads seems very strange to me.

"Been to more than I care to remember, and never saw a one. In fact, Apple was always the butt of the jokes made by real programmers."

I guess your "use by" date has passed...

From the 2015 Stackoverflow developer survey:

1) The first Microsoft specific technology was #4 in usage, behind Javascript, SQL and Java (C#).

2) Swift, Apples new language, won "most loved", C# was ninth on the list.

3) Windows did win "desktop operating system" with 54.5% of the total, but MacOS X was second with an extremely respectable 21.5%. What do you think the trend is? Besides, corporations run behind the curve on technology...

4) Finally, the breakdown of what these developers were doing doesn't look good for Microsoft long-term. 57.6% were doing web or mobile development, versus only 9.1% doing desktop development. That is a great recipe to remove Windows from relevance.

Don't bother to thank me for the education. :-)

It always amazes me how people can come into an Apple topic, and make these stupid claims.

I've almost given up trying to educate them. While they are installing updates, and scanning for viruii, I am working with my Mac.
