Tonight, a good British WW2 film that's actually two stories in one. Binns (John Mills) is a Tommy with no desire for command who is forced by circumstance to lead a group of men to the beaches of Dunkirk to await rescue. Meanwhile, a shopkeeper and boat owner named Holden (Sir Richard Attenborough) must search his heart and gut when suddenly finds himself challenged to do more for the war effort than just pay his taxes...

An enjoyable war movie. It's not perhaps the deepest WW2 film around, but it's well-acted, and the themes of sacrifice and courage resonate throughout the story.

BTW, look for a small part with a young Bernard Lee, who would go on to play "M" in the James Bond films.
