Donald Trump, possible GOP presidential candidate, made two new hires to join his team in South Carolina on Wednesday.

Jeff Taillon has been hired to serve as State Political Director. Gerri McDaniel was hired as Field Director for Trump’s Presidential Exploratory Committee. Jeff Taillon has been in politics for years and previously worked on the Nikki Haley for Governor campaign in 2010.

I found a video of Donald speaking at the South Carolina Freedom Summit (I believe).

Unfortunately it was from the USA Today, which is not welcome for posting here.

He said he is going to decide very soon, whether he will run.

I understand some feel Donald didn't respond to the attempted terrorist attack in Texas as forcefully as he should have. I share some of these concerns. Here is the actual clip just to review:

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2015/05/04/donald-trump-was-asked-what-he-thought-about-the-muhammad-cartoon-event-in-texas-his-answer-isnt-what-youd-expect/

It sounded to me like someone with investments to protect in the Middle East. He could have been more forceful.

However on the matter of international trade, Trump is the only person anywhere out there, who is tough and pro-American, and I very much respond to that.

He was also in the video (sorry once again, it was USA Today so I couldn't post it) saying things very strong on controlling immigration.

So Trump doesn't sound like someone who will deliberately provoke muslims about their guy. I get that's somewhat disappointing, though I do understand in part.

But he is so right, about China and global trade.

And he's the only one at the moment.

So I am all for him joining the race.

Enjoy:

Yes. He takes a strong stance on illegals and I like that he is so pro-America.

I wonder if that is correct about the view regarding the Middle East. I really think sometimes it’s best to just get in there and then get tough, which might be his way, but unsure of how he stands.

He was one of the first to question obamatard’s birth certificate and publicly challenged the validity. Also acknowledged Palin’s stature as a mover and shaker in politics. He’s a welcome addition.

Donald Trump is somewhere between a butterfly and a dilettante, fluttering about and showing superficial interest in the fortunes of the Republican party and the conservative interests in particular. Frankly, he scares the hell out of casual observers, much like watching a bull in a china shop, but so long as he stays in the particular china shop, they can tolerate his existence.

If The Donald wants to build some sort of edifice or memorial to his association with the Republicans, he would do well to emulate Mark Hanna and support a personage such as William McKinley, rather than attempt to remodel himself into an actual candidate. It is difficult to sculpt upon oneself, no matter how the vision may take form inside one’s own head.

Many Republican voters would be receptive to Trump's tough talk on trade and immigration. In early 2011 he led all potential Republican candidates at the time and remained there until it was known he would not enter the race.

Trump leads polls

Due to his age and other factors, this is probably his last realistic chance to enter the primaries. If he ever plans to run for president, he needs to do it now.

The thing is, Trump’s talking about bringing back American jobs, and controlling immigration.

Two (very) important topics, which nobody else is saying one word about. In fact most are on the wrong side.

So I think he belongs in the race anyway.

Unsure yet whether I’ll vote for him, but he’s got my attention anyway.

Pinging you and the SC list to this post that didn’t warrant starting a new thread, I surmised.

I think Trump probably would have something to contribute working in an administration, but I don’t think most people see him as Presidential.

I was almost to the very end of the article and read what appeared to be a bomb shell dropped on the readers. It said:

“Other declared or possible candidates appearing included U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn from Tennessee....”

WHAT??? Is there anyone but me who was not aware that Marsha Blackburn was considering making a run? Hey, she might make a good VP choice if our nominee is Hispanic. If our nominee is non-Hispanic, I’m thinking Gov. Susana Martinez of NM.

I also learned about Marsha Blackburn from the article. Here is the line that stopped me cold...

The event co-hosted by conservative advocacy group Citizens United and U.S. Rep. Jeff Duncan, a Clinton Republican...

Took me a moment to realize the writer meant the South Carolina town of Clinnon.

Yeah; I assumed there was a town in SC named “Clinton”. But, Marsha Blackburn....... that’s kind of exciting.
