Parents of a sixth-grader at a public charter school in North Las Vegas want an apology after they say a teacher barred their daughter from using a Bible verse in an assignment.

Nonprofit legal group Liberty Institute, representing Tim and Kate Frasier, sent a letter Wednesday containing their demand for the apology to the Somerset Academy's Losee campus.

The Fraisers said their daughter Mackenzie was told she couldn't use the Bible verse John 3:16 for a technology class assignment called "All About Me" that involved creating a PowerPoint presentation and including an inspirational saying on a slide.

Creating a Power Point presentation is considered “technology” these days.

To bad the kid didn’t use something from the Quran. That probably would have been okay.

Only God and Jesus are not allowed in school these days.

Did we really think God was going to bless America when we kicked Him out of our schools and public lives?

No need to get so cynical or scoffy. It’s one aspect of it.

I could see a rather beautiful Powerpoint presentation (these are step by step animated, remember) illustrating how John 3:16 inspires this girl’s life.

We’d already long before kicked Him out of our hearts. This just ratified it.

"We" didn't. The enemy did.

He did not do it alone. It took a country full of lazy Christians and people the enemy fooled into believing they were Christians.

Commitment to Christ means taken Him everywhere, even into the voting booth.

Don’t blame the Devil for man’s bad decisions.

True. But its also necessary not to throw the baby out with the bath water. There are spiritual frauds, as you point out. But there are also many, many people true to God who are fighting the good fight. And - the battle ain't over yet! I just prefer to look at those who are true. Let the false drop, support the true, they're the ones who need the help, IMHO.
