Strangely, Knox County (TN) Library has the book listed the same way.

It’s not unusual for metadata to be harvested from other places.

Libraries make use of lots of volunteers, and it’s not hard to figure that some of them might have an ax to grind and too much time on their hands. Volunteers and unpaid interns don’t have a lot to lose.

Here are the links. I get the same results.

Loudon Library Home
http://library.loudoun.gov/

Collections/Catalog
http://library.loudoun.gov/Collections

Search under Title for "Adios America"
http://catalog.lcpl.lib.va.us/ipac20/ipac.jsp?session=&menu=search&aspect=basic_search&npp=20&ipp=20&profile=adm&ri=&aspect=basic_search&index=.TW&term=Adios+America&I1.x=21&I1.y=22

Search under Author for Coulter
http://catalog.lcpl.lib.va.us/ipac20/ipac.jsp?session=143NA47601522.38549&profile=adm&uri=link=3100025~!373826~!3100001~!3100002&aspect=subtab69&menu=search&ri=1&source=~!horizon_public&term=Coulter%2C+Ann+H.&index=PAUTHOR

Contact the Library:
http://library.loudoun.gov/About/Contact-Us

Loudon Co. Library Facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/LoudounCountyPublicLibrary?fref=ts

Search by Title for Adios America. The catalog finds other titles with "adios" but not Coulter's "Adios America."

Search by Author for Coulter, and selection of Ann H. The image of the book cover confirms that this is the book, even though the title is shown as "offensive."

Strangely, Knox County (TN) Library has the book listed the same way.

The Loudon library is using a catalog server hosted in a Virginia system. I suspect the Virginia system is shared with that of Tennessee and Knox County.

Observe the url for the actual catalog search by Loudon:

My library categorized Clarence Thomas’ autobiography in the African American section. I was pretty offended by that.

Ok my library has it wrong too, and our system is in a deep red county so I’ll ask the librarian if they can switch it to the right name like Amazon has.

At least they have the book, 20 years ago we were having to fight to get the libraries to buy best selling conservative books.

This is a lot bigger matter than merely one small town library. It's infested a master database for such items.

Here it is in crony corporate America...

Your link says they have 0 copies, and when you click on the “where is it?” button, it takes you to fiction?

There is a “booklist” (Books In Print). There may be more these days.

There was a time when Amazon’s “catalog” was merely the Books In Print catalog. If they didn’t have it, and it was in print, they’d custom order it for you just as your local brick and mortar was willing to do.

Someone responsible for data entry or classification made the call to do this (with or without the proper authority to do so).

The American Library Ass will never include this in their annual “Banned Books Week” display.
