thats outlandish and not a particularly brilliant business practice..

by and large who buys books?? it isnt the low info types,..

They can pander if they FEEL to, but they cant THRIVE by doing so... for very long.

I’m stunned!

Loudoun County is the northern most County in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Cities and towns are mostly “bedroom communities” for the commutes to D.C., Fairfax, and Reston. The commuters are largely government, government contractors, and IT people.

The County is sharply divided... and has been for a long time (going back to the Great War).

The eastern part (east of Leesburg, the county seat) is densely developed and very liberal. (lots of muslims, btw) Their (!) growing population swung the County over to liberal-land about 10 years ago. Growth in Loudoun has been spectacular for the past 20 years.

The western half butts up against the Blue Ridge Mountain and consists mostly of large acreage homes and some farms - especially horse farms. “Farm-etts”, we call them. The large estates - we call them “McMansions” have increased in number for the past 30 years and are slowly changing the nature of even the western half.

Loudoun is one of the fastest-growing, richest counties in the nation.

I got more, if you want but that’s off the top of my head.

Even with all that - I still love living here.

Other posts here reveal that this cutsie little hatemongering is in use elsewhere. Everyone should check their local library online!

The catalog came up with the correct title when I searched it by clicking the link. And when I did an advanced search for "au:Coulter" and "ti:Offensive," I came up with nothing.

Perhaps the library staff confused Ann Coulter with Andrei A. Sidorenko, author of The Offensive (Moscow: Voenizdat [Military Publishers], 1970), a bestseller in the defense community and among Sovietologists in the 1970's and 1980's.

I watched a video of Ms Coulter and Mr. Ramos (sorry of Mr. instead of senior sounds racist).

Ramos made an emphatic point about percentages and numbers. He had the percentage right and eventually got the numbers right.. 40 million.

But he seemed to brush off the point.. percentages and numbers alone do not matter -- it is culture, heritage, and language. Prior to the past few decades we could count on immigrants with knowledge of at least two of the three.

That lack could be made up with the willingness to learn and adopt. But is it there? Or do way too many cling to the mores and languages of their corrupt homeland?

At least the percentages and numbers are there in federal stats.

http://www.census.gov/content/dam/Census/library/infographics/foreign_born_text.pdf

America's Foreign Born in the Last 50 Years During the last 50 years, the foreign - born population of the United States has undergone dramatic changes in size, origins, and geographic distributions. This population represented about 1 in 20 residents in 1960, mostly from countries in Europe who settled in the Northeast and Midwest. Today’s foreign - born population makes up about one in eight U.S. residents, mostly immigrants from Latin America and Asia who have settled in the West and South. The Decennial Census and the annual American Community Survey allow us to trace the changes in the foreign - born population over time.

I just had a long conversation with a Loudoun County Public Library “director”
It was a very pleasant conversation and she explained what happened here. The lady was fully acquainted with the issue and understands how this happened.
First, and foremost - as you can tell from the content of this thread - the problem was not restricted to jus the LCPL.
The “preliminary” title (going back to November 2014) of the book was “Offensive.” Sometimes the preliminary titles change before publication. The title is needed early on so that the books can be ordered - the “on order record” uses the preliminary title. The key identifier is the ISBN and that never changes.
Nationally, there are 2-3 “consolidators” who distribute books to stores and libraries. Libraries do not deal directly with the publishers.
When the book is released, the title is updated. Sometimes that change is done before release.
The organization that handles all of this - internationally- is the OCLC (”https://www.oclc.org/home.en.html";) — sorry, I don’t have time for html right now...

THEY are the ones who -CORRECTLY - used the title “Offensive” - Repeat- It was not an adjective and it was not a description of the book.

Finally, the Library Director made it clear that she follows strict rules and guidelines for these things and that the kind of “offense” that we (and I!!) imagined would never happen.

Thanks for reading my rambling.

Librarians as a group are Lefties/Socialists - the conservative librarians have to keep their mouths shut, or their jobs are in jeopardy.

Just checked and the Battle Creek public library shows Ann’s new book as “Ann Coulter Untitled” - they also show a picture of the book clearly titled as “Adios America” - guess I will be calling the library to find out what is going on here - looks like a Nationwide Librarian Conspiracy to me!

Too Right!

Our copy is (while still on order) cataloged correctly.

I’ll make sure it stays so.

librarians as a group are very leftwing. one wouldn’t know it unless one was aware of the things their professional organization (ALA) is up to... but as a group, they are very leftwing.
