Although Senator Ted Cruz is generally seen as a guy whos mostly into domestic policies, he proved with an op-ed for Time that hes very well aware of whats happening in the world. In his piece, Cruz explains that Turkeys President Recep Tayyip Erdogans defeat in the elections on Sunday paves the way towards a better relationship between the U.S. and Turkey at least with regards to the war on terror:
"This is good news for Turkey, and it should be good news for the United States as well. Turkey has been a long-standing friend to our nation, and is an important NATO ally. But Mr. Erdogans increasingly autocratic, Islamist and anti-American policies, largely un-rebuked by the Obama administration, have threatened this relationship. Under his rule, Turkey has become a leader in Internet censorship and the persecution of journalists. Mr. Erdogans administration has been aggressively hostile to our ally Israel, further inflaming regional tensions. By withholding access to the NATO air base at Incirlik, Turkey has further jeopardized our already anemic campaign against the spread of ISIS along Turkeys borders with Syria and Iraq."
Erdogans islamist AKP is still the biggest party in Parliament, but it lost almost 10% of its votes. Whats more, because of the rise of the Kurdish HDP party the Islamists cannot form a majority government by themselves. They either have to join forces with an opposition party (who already said theyre not going to work with Erdogan), establish a minority government (which is very weak), call for new elections soon or a combination of these possible scenarios. In theory its even possible that the AKP will lose its hold on power altogether: if all three opposition parties join forces, they can form a government without them.

Correct me if I am wrong, there used to be a fairly large nation called Kurdistan.
I think that Cruz is being a bit naïve thinking Erdogan will change.
The most famous Kurdish empire is probably that of the Ayyubid dynasty. Saladin, who defeated the Crusaders, was a Kurd.
One great incintive would be their very survival and not getting over run by ISIS or war in their country.
Northern Iraq ? Northern Syria ? To the Kurds ?
Give the Palestinions part of Syria.
Why ? do I have a feeling in the not to distant future that all of those who have railed against Ted Cruz voting on the Trade Authority Bill, and what he actually added in the bill to stop Obama’s back door secret on back door amnesty following Jeff Session’s advise and lead having egg on their faces when the dust settles ?
Hey Trolls ? Nice Try but Ted Cruz was never finished as you claim, Ted Cruz is just getting started and before to long and he will be the conservative of choice among conservatives soon, and many will coaliase around him.
Rand Paul will drop out of the race in the not to distant future, you can bank on that.
This propagamda and smear machine could be a last ditched effort from Rand Paul and his campaign, and supporters to discredit and smear Ted Cruz on this.
They are to lazy, or joined the band wagon of the propaganda to actually find out what Ted Cruz did on this bill.
You too Mark Levin, instead of knee jerk reactions, find out what Ted Cruz actually supported instead of listening to those with a agenda, like Rand Paul.
A-10s and AC-130s bunches of them until the job is done.
Of course Rand Paul would rather have us fight with spitball guns, and troops with flowers in their hair.
Ted Cruz on Hugh Hewitt talks about TPP and TPA as well as about ISIS.
TPA TPP at about 10 minutes and ISIS at about 13 minutes.

There you go again with facts and references.
Knock it off!

I was being sarcastic...making fun of people like you who refuse to do your homework. Ok, so he might or might not have been wrong on TPA. That having been said, give me a BETTER option for president! Tell me how one vote ERASES all of his past stances and fights FOR Conservatism.
They won’t listen. they can’t.
Cruz is rolling. Yes, this vote was unpopular, but Walker supported it too (which amuses me as his supporters are VERY silent now).
I have read TPA. I know the differences. I am not thrilled with it, but I don’t think Cruz would do something to hurt this country.
The people on this page have an agenda. The Paulies know their guy is weak. The Walkerbots are, well, a bit upset now that their guy has stepped in it. None of the others are great.
Cruz will be fine.
A kurdish nation is fine by me...IMHO.
Ted Cruz is fine by me, too. If we want an ideal candidate, then such people should run themselves.
It won’t happen without bloodshed and it won’t happen tomorrow but I think it will happen inside of 20 years.
Well you better hustle on over to Teddy’s Facebook page and bail him out because he’s getting a roasting from a lot of his former fans and it looks like his ship is sinking. You need to probably start trying to pick another hugh and series conservative candidate after Cruz fails to make the cut.
Some have chosen Donald Trump already.
Donald Trump is going to disappoint like the last time, and the last time, and the last time.
Donald Trump is a businessman who is sherwd, he won’t show his locker face, keeping his cards to his chest.
Walker supporters, gnashing of teeth.
So where are they going to go now ?
Rand Paul ?
I bet you dollars to donuts that most here on FR who rail against Ted Cruz and trolls have went on over to Ted Cruz’s Facebook page in a ambush attack in a effort to make it appear that Ted Cruz is sinking and losing support.
