Slightly OT but I always get a kick out of the scene in “It’s a Wonderful Life” where George is running away from the cop in the crowded town square (at night) and the cop pulls his revolver and rips off a few shots at him.

Don’t think that would happen in this day and age.

Note that the shooting took place in alternate-universe Pottersville, not good old Bedford Falls.

I've noted that scene as well; he shot right at bystanders and no one seemed particularly concerned. Guess that's just a normal Christmas Eve in Pottersville.
