Stick a fork in Whole Foods?
CNNMoney ^ | July 31, 2015 | Paul R. La Monica

Whole Foods may be toast. Granted, it's toast made from pricey, gluten-free, organic honey oat bread. But toast nonetheless.

Shares of Whole Foods (WFM) plunged more than 10% Thursday after the high-end natural grocery chain reported sales and profits that missed analysts' forecasts. Its outlook did not impress investors either.

Yeah. I take the plastic bags and get looks of disdain.....then If they see me leave in my Hemi Ram they go apoplectic to the point that they can’t smell their own farts and appreciate their own smugness

I make them give me a paper bag....then they ask if I want my receipt...I always say yes, of course.

Carry on! ;)

I heard yesterday of hiring and help wanted signs.

Surely the economy is A-OK.

An MIT student once wrote a piece about Whole Foods in one of the school's student newspapers. In it she described,in detail, the 500 different cheeses and 800 different wines one could find there...among other things on their shelves. She also described what she found parked in the parking lot.

She basically concluded that shopping at Whole Foods wasn't about eating healthy food...it was about demonstrating one's affluence.

I think she was right.

Meh. We never go there. Ground meat is lousy and Sprouts has better produce. HATE our local- and only, grocery chain. With a passion. Come onnn Aldi’s.

Best to give up hope on ALL supermarket fish depts. As you know, fresh seafood must be kept UNDER ice at 28 deg.

All seafood depts I’ve seen always keep the fish on TOP of the ice, allowing the fish to begin to rot and thus the “fishy” smell where there should be NO smell if the fish was truly fresh.

My first encounter with them I discovered they would rather sell you something from an unregulated producer in South American than offer a health food from an US provider that has been in business for more than a 100 years and has an unblimished record.

I find the Whole Store to be some kind of disorienting parallel universe.

I hate these posts that cheer for businesses to fail. Is anyone forced to shop at Whole Foods? We have a Whole Foods close by. I go sometimes for lunch as their prepared foods are very good. But for bulk shopping it’s Costco and Stop and Shop.

That said, I would certainly never hope a business fails. Not saying you are particularly saying this, but I’m sure many on the thread will.

Ditto with the reusable bag. I look at those people thinking they must not have enough crap to keep up with in the life.

First time I went into Whole Foods, I wore my Vietnam vet cap just to get dirty looks from the leftwing greyhaired ponytail crowd of both sexes I expected to see there.

No such luck. Mostly upscale women & a few soldiers, believe it or not. They gave me vet’s discount at checkout & the gal said, “Thank you for your service”.

Not one patron shrieked “Babykiller!” Bummer.

;^)

I always wonder if the tattoed millenial stocking the store is gonna somehow infect the bin foods with his Hep C.

Too many tattooed slackers for my taste.

Also, I am a big fan of eye candy, but it’s difficult to get a rise from a chick with green hair, no matter how curvy and voluptuous.
