There are a few of those places, but not many. If you’re in one, and especially if you have a lot of land, you can get much of the same independence that’s only available overseas for a lot of folks.

Nancy, my favorite bachelor conservative is a local radio host in Tucson, Charles Heller. He is very well read, bright, funny, big 2nd amendment/ liberty promoter and is wonderful company.

We go or run into him at conservative events. Nice, nice man.

I wish I could set him up with someone equally as nice. I heard him say, that “marriage is an institution, I would some day like to be committed to again.” ( Or words to that effect.)

His show is on KVOI The Voice Tucson, 11am to 1pm

Here are his podcast. http://www.libertywatchradio.com/

I wish you the best in your search. Thanks for letting your wishes know aloud. It will happen with your smart criteria.

Although, I wish to know where this idyll is, I understand you keep it under wraps.

I hope to God, you don’t suffer the misfortune another Freeper did, when the place he staked out in Idaho became a relocation destination for transplanted Muslims!

C. Edmund Wright, you’re dead on correct. Either on account of cognitive lag, fear of the unknown, or some other reason, there seems to persist lots of misinformation about living overseas.

Here’s an article that explodes the most common myths about living overseas: http://www.thestreet.com/story/13228084/1/debunking-4-common-myths-about-retiring-to-central-america.html

I have been living in Mexico off and on for 3.5 years, and can say, the most/most materialistic people are western women, never stop comparing their condos, latest and best restaurants, or their coming extended cruise...

I’m amazed at the unanimity on this thread about the desirability of going expat.

Now, if a host country has fewer of its own citizens trying to get into the U.S. than there are U.S. expats living there or planning to, then it might be worth a look.

But the Philippines? I don’t think so.

Nothing to disagree with in your post. The unfortunate thing is that a lot of folks here in the states haven’t had the chance to live overseas. I have to admit that I prefer it overseas. More freedom in most things compared to the US, better food, cheaper, a more relaxed lifestyle, and a lot of really nice folks.

Bammie is targeting flyover states for Muslim infiltration. Idaho will soon have more Somalis on welfare than Minnesota.

Where I live, muzzies are few & vewy vewy quiet. Too many of us “infidels” running around with CWPs & guns. And Bibles. And Rebel flags.

;^)

Thanks. But if I am still earning even while on SS the IRS a-holes can still tax me even after I am living in another country, right? Specifically, what if I am a subcontractor to an American country but living elsewhere? Thanks -

Except the relationship may be false. He may have found a (poor) beautiful Asian / Island girl who appears to worship him and just try to please him. He should listen to this girl when he isn’t around.

I was imported (by way of love and marriage) to a European country once by a man. We had a mainly equals relationship and I had more $ than him. But a lot of my friends were Asian wives of locals. They were onto the whole thing. They were there for the money and life. They knew EXACTLY how to behave for their men but they looked down on them and even if fond of them didn’t love them the way the man would have wanted. The men very often lied to these girls and they KNEW it, so the whole thing was based on a man who was immature and wanted a hot Asian body and worshipping and servicing him the hours of the day when he didn’t want sex.

The girls in their hearts were prostitutes, with their husbands. However, they were smart and fun girl friends to the other wives. We saw the real people and they were great. Their husband only saw the servile sexy caracature they wanted to see. I found the whole thing sad as hell.

The ex pat industry is BOOMING....has been since Obama especially, but there are a good number of kinda bohemian lib types doing it too.....but the growth is the anti Obama boom.

And no, Asia is not my cup of tea either...there are some gorgeous places in The Philippines - but when you’re talking Asia, you’re talking a whole different ballgame in getting back and forth to visit family.

Sounds like a sales pitch to me.

Perhaps the expats who like it are the ones who prey on the suckers.

That used to describe North America. Now it describes much of Central and South America.
