What is this strange stuff you call ice that you put into your whiskey?

I hate to admit it, but I am a wus. I like a little water my whiskey from the cubes melting and I like my whiskey slightly chilled, hence only two cubes. On the other hand, I will drink a good single malt straight up.

If you make your own brandied or cognac cherries, you might consider using Vietnamese or Saigon cinnamon, which really packs a punch. The Old Fashioned is a much nobler drink - tough to find a bartender who knows how to make one properly these days.
