I found this the other day by accident. I've never seen a class action lawsuit such as this . Starkist wants to avoid litigation so this is what they are offering to you. They don't require a receipt but you sign off under penalty of perjury..

TOPICS: Business/Economy; Food
KEYWORDS: cash; hendricks; starkist; vouchers
Here's two more links other than topclassactions.

The 1st link explains & the second link is the form you can fill out to make a claim.

https://www.tunalawsuit.com/home.aspx

here's the 2nd link for a claim-it's very simple , straightforward

Hard to get canned Starkist low sodium around here, so I've been buying pouches.

This is a product that has been shrinking steadily. Used to be 6 oz. Now it's 5 oz. Small cans used to be 3 oz. Now I think it's 2.5. Of course, the price has gone up.

Isn’t “Starkist” owned by Nanci Pelosi?

We bought our share of the water packed tuna over the years. The shortchanged amount probably doesn’t add up to the settlement but that is the deal that was cut. Went for the $25, cash in this Obamaeconomy helps.

Tuna should be packed in oil. I never bought any hippie tuna packed in water.

Paul Pelosi, Nancy’s husband, owns $17 million dollars of Star-Kist stock.

Over the years I’ve purchased lots of cans of Starfish Tuna - solid albacore, the pricy stuff.

I just filed my claim and took the $50 in vouchers. I like tuna - tuna sandwiches and tuna casserole. : )

Thanks for the correct info!
Anyway, that’s the one and only reason why I don’t buy Starkist even if it’s on sale.

I like the Starkist tuna white albacore-& always used it in the “old family recipe”lol of the infamous TUNA-NOONA Casserole on Friday nights - aka The Friday Night Stretcher...

I’m in agreement with you about the shortchanged amount so obviously it would seem to take a life of it’s own in litigation considering all these thousands & thousands & millions & millions of cans of tuna the processing plant has shortchanged people many times over.

My post was only to bring to the forum a nice little rebate for those who have purchased Starkist Tuna from 2009 - 2014\
and no where in Hendricks v Starkist Tuna documents that I have read does Nanny & Paul Pelosi’s name come up- but for now we know there’s something afoot and perhaps this could be the start of an expose on corruption within gov’t as we know it right now.

There’s a lot to be said about class actions & until now I’ve never participated in one- I found this by total accident & just wanted to share the news. i didn’t go for the 25$ cash but went for 50$ vouchers. The other thing that one should be aware of is these amounts will be pro-rated but who knows? (see my link below on Nanny & Paul Pelosi)

But as I have been writing this I did take a break to research a bit more and found out some things about the
dirty political maneuvers by none other than the infamous

NANNY AND PAUL PELOSI

I won’t post all the links I’ve found maybe one or two & leave the rest of our audience here @ FR to kick in their own links & contribution to discussion.

***This really something else if you dig deep enough. Nanny recently gets thrown under the Love Bus by that pos in WashDC when he declared Harry Reid his bestest pal most recently***
And every one here knows how that pos just simply ADORED Nanny ‘cause she signed him off as official in Hawaii; i.e., before he ran for POTUS

Now here’s a link I’m posting to start off ‘cause there are many more .It’s effin’ astounding how the Pelosi’s have lined their pockets to the Nth degree.

How strange that a bailout bill from 2007 was earmarked by Nanny for 33mil$’s as a “economic development credit for American Samoa” to pay back wages. Hendricks v Starkist starts from 2009 ‘til 2014. I’m assumingNanny & Paul have paid those back wages to american samoans but have put into their own pocket the balance of funds from the US gov’t under many a guise. And as it’s looking to me and she and her husband really cleaned up compliments of the US gov’t.
and Nanny’s influence in WashDC

http://www.atuna.com/NewsArchive/ViewArticle.asp?ID=6766
It’s my opinion this Hendricks v Starkist is a subtle tactic to absolve Paul and Nanny of any wrongdoing in reaping the rewards of a earmark from 2007 because surely as you and I know those who approved the 33mil$ earmark in tandem with Nanny would be guilty of a lot of things and as I am not of a legal mind there is one word that comes to mind - “collusion” on all parts.

On another note: This also has a lot to do with labelling, too, but I have no argument about weight in the can. I’m sure the Pelosi canning factory produces canned tuna for other labels, too, so those individuals who only worked on the Starkist line & label got those back wages even tho’ there were other workers on the same job site
working under another label like “Chicken of the Sea” or even off-labels like you see at the $Store or the storebrand where you shop in the generic form but I could wrong & would welcome any input & more research in contribution to this thread.

Look at the numbers- with unknown amount of how their workers were compensated on back wages in 2007. 33mil$ kicks in 2009. Hendricks v Starkist class action begin 2009 thru 2014.

I find it astounding that 8mil$’s is being paid out in cash amounts of 25$ and the 50$ voucher-simply for Starkist &it’s not the amount that is being paid off but somewhere along the line I believe Nanny & Paul’s pockets are well-lined from all of this .

I’ve posted my thoughts here because I do believe that the Pelosi’s and all the rest of those politicians in WashDC have made their money off the back of the US gov’t and it’s damn shame to see who is there screwing by dishonesty, avarice, greed , etc...the american public and THIS is what is making America not great anymore.

If anyone is a journalist, blogger or works in a local or national newsroom I believe this story needs to catch the wind and please help to make it viral and then again, as always, my humble opinion.

*********************************
I tried the pouches for about two weeks a couple of years ago and gave up on them because it was so difficult to get the tuna out of the package. Plus, Starkist is way overpriced!

I’ll stick to WalMart’s GV brand at 78cents for 5oz. can of chunk tuna in water. Very solid meat after draining water from can. Makes great sandwich on a fresh baked large croissant from Albertson’s; just add some mayo and lemon juice.
