I think the time has come where I might effectively assault the common core curriculum that has about a three year start on me ... to eliminate it and get back to Dick and Jane, phonetic reading, REAL arithmetic, TRUE American history .. etc. ...
I don't know (first, if it's possible) and second ... HOW do I go about DOing it ?
I do have a lot of community support but we are organized only by a Conservative ideology, not by any agenda or argument

One man said he just went to the school and said I don’t want my kid participating,.not sure how that worked out

I’ve had discussions with people on this. Even though they are otherwise good parents they have just decided to go along.
Until the real horror of CC reveals its damage most parents will go along and then wake up. By then it will be too late.
Very few want to go up against the school board and the teachers for fear of them taking it out on their children.
Meeting Common Core guidelines has meant that teachers use workbooks or online text books to teach kids what they need to know for the Common Core assessments/tests.
To eliminate common core, you have to replace the text books (mostly digital), workbooks and curriculum.
Fortunately, the solution would be going back to the old one.
Study Common Core so that you know exactly what it is, its effects on students, negative consequences, where it originated from, how much money taxpayers are bilked for annually, etc...

Setup a Facebook page with the videos. There is power in those bideos. Ask Planned Parenthood.
Educate the people. Let them know WHY there is Muslim tolerance conditioning exercises say if you unvover the fact that there are people that sit on boards associated with it that have strong Muslim Brotherhood connections.
In essence you’re going to have to do some of your own digging and then educate the people. To make your job a lot easier there are already many people who have done research on Commie Core. They can shortcut your digging considerably.
I am not sure of what advice I can provide that would be relevant to your situation. My only recommendation would be to use your position to closely monitor the environment and to make sure that parents have an avenue to address their concerns and that you work to enable parents to first be notified and then allow them to opt out of offensive materials.
Organize the parents. Until you have angry but well-informed mobs demanding action and citing specific examples at every school board meeting, the resident smart-people, e.g. administrators, will have the upper hand.
You need the administration, superintendent especially, to want to eliminate common core and the funding that goes with it. It has been my experience that school boards are really just there to rubber stamp what the administrators decide. The members who try to make a difference by going against the superintendent are shut out and marginalized. All information you receive is filtered through the superintendent. If he doesn’t want you to know or take action on something, it will never be on the agenda.

Having been taught in the early 1950’s ‘sight reading’ via “Dick and Jane” it is the opposite of phonetics. And INFERIOR to teaching phonetics.
Not sure about other common core, other than it was a good state level only idea that got stolen and perverted by the Federal government.
Common Core is pure adolescent brain washing in the same sense as the Hitler youth movement . It is repulsive to the traditions of academia and conservative factual teachings . It is nothing more than a huge social experiment in mind control at an early stage of human life .

This video really brought home to me the dangers of Common Core to our children’s minds. The question and answer session at the end gives some good insight on how to combat it but no easy answers.
The other roots are at the state level.
I live in a state that has not bought into Common Core. My daughter lives in a state that has taken it and she has decided to homeschool.
It would be good if you knew a little history of the Common Core.
The money used to develop Common Core came from the Annenburg Challenge back in the eighties. Bill Ayers had a major hand in it's creation. They used the inner city schools to practice their skills because the single moms would not kick up a fuss as they would have no idea what was being taught to their kids.
Now look at what is coming out of the inner city schools.
The major work CC does is to instill critical thinking skills designed to make children as adults think amorally.
Just what the socialists want in order to recreate our country. Right under our noses.
If your state has signed on, then my best advice is to work to minimize its effects where you are.
Outside of the Lord coming back, CC will be our educational cancer.
