Middle of the day, somebody's dashcam, very bright and clear. Meteor appears at the 30 second mark. Amazing how good cameras are today. Video at source

Never seen a shooting star in middle of day. Imagine how bright it would have been at night.

Around 15 years ago i was driving across a small bridge in Dedham MA crossing the Charles River and this CRAZY fireball literally screamed across the front of my car.
Thank god my GF at the time was with me to back the story up.
Went looking for it the next day with a bud but never found it, prob landed in the river.
Looked and seemed like something out of a disaster flick....

Hmm, I bet some meteorite hunters would be very interested if you can still remember exactly where you were and where meteor was in the sky when you saw it and which direction it was going, etc. They can be pretty valuable.

These guys.
"If you happen to see one of these memorable events, we would ask that you report it here to the American Meteor Society, remembering as many details as possible. This will include things such as brightness, length across the sky, color, and duration (how long did it last), it is most helpful of the observer will mentally note the beginning and end points of the fireball with regard to background star constellations, or compass direction and angular elevation above the horizon."

Pretty amazing video. I saw one just like that one night some 20 years ago or so. Sitting in my living room watching TV when I happened to glance through the widow into my backyard a saw it light up like a full moon was shinning down. Except that the shadows were moving fast. I ran outside and saw a fireball like the one in the video traveling overhead toward the south west and heard a roaring sound coming from it.

I live way up in the mountains on the California/Nevada border and days later read that the burning ball landed some where in the Pacific Ocean.

I was crossing a small bridge and the thing screamed perpendicular to me so i assumed it landed in the Charles river, Corner of Rt. 1 and Bridge st, Dedham, MA on the park side.
It was around midnight and it was a raging fireball, seemed liked maybe the size of a fridge or a little bit bigger.
looking back i would be thinking that maybe my mind is embellishing the memory but luckily i had my ex gf with me to back me up.

I will check into that web site tomorrow, thanks for that.
the meteor was so impressionable that i got my buddy out to go hunt it down with me the next day, we looked all around the river park and up and down it’s coastline with zero luck.
it’s probably sitting in the bottom of the water.
The river is pretty shallow in that spot or so say’s my fishing buds..
Growing up living right up the street i always thought it was DEEP, I hear it’s only like 5 feet deep.
Can only imagine the junk down there...
