Ben Carson Stumbles on Illegal Immigration, Ferguson
Right Wing News ^ | 9/14/2015 | Dave Blount

Meanwhile, as Trump promises to rid the country of illegal aliens within 2 years, Ben Carson wants to give them guest worker status, and defends his stance with the doubtful claim that enforcing immigration law would lead to paying $4 for a tomato because only foreigners from the Third World are willing to work on farms.

To the extent it is true that Americans are unwilling to work on farms despite the alarmingly low labor force participation rate, this is a matter to be resolved by reining in the welfare state, not by leaving the border open.

Conservatives may also have a hard time swallowing this:

Carson says he probably wouldn’t have used deadly force against Michael Brown, the teenager whose fatal shooting by police Officer Darren Wilson sparked a national debate on race and the role of police.

Carson gave an interview to the Post-Dispatch on Friday afternoon after visiting Ferguson. When asked if he would have shot Brown if he were in Wilson’s shoes, Carson said: “It’s hard to say. I probably, knowing who he was, I probably just would have arrested him.”

Uh, Ben…

A Justice Department investigation concluded that Wilson had reason to fear for his life and thus couldn’t be prosecuted for fatally shooting the unarmed 18-year-old.

Suggesting that Darren Wilson had any choice is playing along with the liberal narrative — that is, ignoring reality and thereby splashing gasoline on the fire.

Carson’s heart is in the right place. He would make a great Surgeon General. But he does not appear to be the guy to undo Obama’s damage as President

For those who may have missed this, it bears repeating.

And, yet these remarks never make the MSM. Only what Trump says is newsworthy in an attempt to bring him down, I guess.

It’s a little hard to believe Trump is the only person willing to leave his past and personal interests behind and push for what needs to be done. He seems to be looking out for us regular folks with the only ideology being America First. At least more so than the other major candidates.

Who’d a thunk it.

[Carson said: “It’s hard to say. I probably, knowing who he was, I probably just would have arrested him.”]

He knew who he was? That’s incredible.

If he had gotten out of the street and not gone for the cop’s gun, it probably would have turned out differently. But he assumed, incorrectly, that DW knew he (MB) had just pulled a robbery and committed assault and battery.

Dr. Carson didn’t stumble. He’s like Alan Keyes was a few years back. One issue. Scratch the surface and there’s no “conservative” inside.

This wasn’t a stumble or gaffe. Ben Carson, the “okay” doctor, is showing his true color. It’s good that he revealed his racism early in the primary season. He be down with da stuggle against da man. Goodbye Bennie.

“Americans are unwilling to work on farms”
Around here the illegals will give you a beat down at worst for showing up in the fields. They don't want you to take “their” jobs.

A balanced article would include an informative reply from the hydroponic tomato industry.

Carson is a good man. He is so low energy ,however, that he makes bush look like an Olympic gymnast. He will fade out. The GOPe will now rally behind Kasich. We must stop Trump from picking Kasich as VP.

I won’t say I’m shocked; nothing really “shocks” me any more. And so the sarcastic reverse applies as well. I am more disappointed than anything else. The good doctor is a brilliant surgeon without peer, but out of his depth on policy and administrative matters, and those are the things I’m looking for in a President.

I doubt it was racism.
It was probably more the Christian in him talking:

'If this guy kills me, I go to Heaven. If I kill him, he likely goes to hell'

As opposed to understanding that as a Police Officer his job would be to serve and protect society. And as such, his job could include terminating a person that is a danger to society (and that would include terminating someone who is endangering your own life). A Police Officer, Christian, or not, cannot give a violent person a 'free-pass', as might a Christian surgeon. I'd still recommend the Christian surgeon not giving the raging bull a 'free-pass', but I could understand it if he chose otherwise.

Also, his stance on guns is on the liberal side.
