When you posted that a while ago, I went there and read about it, installed it, I can go anywhere and there are no ads...I love it, and thank you for recommending it....

Which site had 91 ads blocked? I work in this field, and am interested to know what’s going on on that site. I suspect it’s one of the sites listed on this page: https://easylist.adblockplus.org/blog/2015/08/19/issues-with-yavli-advertising

I installed AdBlockPlus the other day and was shocked at how effective it is in blocking ads....and it took seconds to download ....easy!

My mac mini I bought in 2012 recently died on me. I am convinced it was from visiting Glenn beck’s sh-t site the blaze, and breitbart. The late great namesake is spinning in his grave over what the new people in charge have done to it...

Conservative news sites seem to be the worst of all on ad overload. (Maybe because they feel outnumbered and put upon, they feel entitled to especially smother their readers with intrusive ads?)

Anyway, explains why Rush would be especially barraged by them as well.

Apple allows blocking, but then sends their paid social marketers to our forum to infect this site with their campaigns disguised as “interest lists.”

Radio has always had adds. I can remember a time when I could search the internet and find data that is free and not have 100 sites trying to sell the data to me on the search engine.

Ghostery is another good blocker, it also does scripts, cookies, trackers, and stuff.

Now, what do we do about his radio show that is 33% ads?

...and does that even count the "imbedded" ads - made to sound like part of Rush commentary?

A few years ago, and perhaps still, the ‘embedded’ ads were in his ‘commercial free’ podcast. At least with a podcast you can easily forward 2 or 3 minutes when he starts talking about identity theft, hot water, hard drive failure, etc.

Radio has always had adds.

Of course, but the "fastest 3 hours" in radio now has less than 2 hours in content. That's not including Rush going off on credit protection, iced tea, children's books. etc.

It wasn't always like this. The ad footprint has now grown to 1/3, not including the embedded ads.

In the early days of television, there were embedded ads, but when they did that they did not have the regular ads on top of it. Watch an old Burns and Allen on YouTube. Half-way through, Bill Goodwin or Harry Von Zell would come in and start talking about Carnation condensed milk or Goodrich tires, winking at the audience the whole time.

With all of the competition for our ears these days, I don't see the format surviving for another ten years (Rush's time before retirement or semi-retirement) without some major changes.

Your jealousy and envy are showing again.

Google (Android’s developer) gets its many billions from advertising and SELLING USER’S DATA. Apple makes its profits by selling value in the form of quality products and has, at its core, respect for the privacy of its customers. And it respects that privacy unlike Google.

You tube usually has his entire show, sans, ads posted by 5:00pm Central. Search for Limbaugh, filter by date. Should be near the top. One benefit is the time saved, plus you can easily skip topics you're not interested in.

This also works well for that Global conspiracy dude from Austin, also Savage, and I'm sure many others.

I don’t pay to hear Rush. I pay for internet service. I end up paying for the web adds loading up but with rush I simply turn down the volume.
