Another shark-jumper program seems to be The Walking Dead. Aside from repetition (Rick and his pack go to a new place, a black cast member dies, everything goes to hell, zombies attack, Rick and pack scram, repeat..), the show has grown increasingly fascist over the past season or so, with the non-regulars all segmented into unfit “untermenschen” who deserve to get eaten.
Sorry to hear that Lilyhammer was cancelled. I really enjoyed that show!
Another good show on Netflix is “Peaky Blinders” and don’t forget that “Longmire” has transitioned to Netflix as well!
I know. They met on I think hustle and flow. From what I read apparently he’s developed a really big ego recently and it’s gotten to the point where they had a big fight and aren’t speaking unless required to. If it’s true it’s kinda sad because she was the reason he got cast.
In the 1970s, “The Jeffersons” was pretty good as well. The show dealt with interracial marriage in a somewhat edgy manner (George J. didn’t approve and didn’t want a “zebra” daughter-in-law), but there was no hate.
Oh wow. Thanks. I hadn’t heard that but the way he has been treating his ex wife, I can see it easily. Thanks for the info.
Let me know when they have a White Entertainment Network (WET) channel on cable.
Well that is called the CW, ABC Family, CBS, Lifetime, Hallmark, and a ton more. They just don’t have that official classification.
Black TV programs do not speak to me because they come from an entirely different culture that has little relevance to my norms, values, and behavior.
The lewdness and crudity of black culture is beneath me. I do not want it’s influence in my life. There, I said it.
I agree. Take a hit format, nasty it up, make some jokes about white people and you’ve got a hit, I guess.
