If that’s all you see then I’m afraid there is no hope for you. I don’t watch everything with a political agenda in my mind. Have you been out visiting General Franco’s grave again?

It was set during the Spanish Civil War, before WWII.
There really weren't any "good guys" during that war, at least among the combatants. There were the communists vs the fascists, basically a (somewhat) proxy war between the USSR & Nazi Germany.
