Given that the deadline to file for the New Hampshire ballot was three days ago, I’m not sure why the Globe felt this was necessary. Maybe they wanted to show people how soft Trump’s support in the state really is, despite all of the polls there showing him leading?
If so, it would have been nice to make that point when Romney was still viable as a potential candidate. Right now, looking at Rubio’s relative weakness in New Hampshire, I’ll bet a lot of establishmentarians who are worried about Trumpmentum would think hard about Romney 3.0 as a last-ditch bid to stop him.

The GOPe will do anything to ensure a Hillary victory for the Illuminati. Romney will do. Either one would give them the required wars for nothing and increase in state power and control. Rubio will go along with anything, as he is flat broke and psychotically ambitious. Trump won’t go alng with ANY of it. So he must be stopped. As one GOP House insider said to Drudge in 2012: “We don’t care who’s president, so long as we keep our committee chairmanships.” This is about control and distribution of a multi-trillion dollar treasury. Party means NOTHING.
Deadline be damned. If both the RNC and Romney want Romney in the NH primary he will be in the NH primary. Rules will be changed accordingly.

Romney would be the perfect candidate for the establishment. You know he wouldn’t put up a fight, and would not want to be seen as depriving the US of our historic first female president.

Trump backed Romney, if you will recall, and has stated repeatedly that the only reason he’s in the race is because Romney couldn’t get the job done.

Outside the fact that Romney getting in the race would be a betrayal of epic proportions to the GOP grassroots the idea that a hypothetical poll means a lot at this point is misguided. Its like the comparisons which suggest Rubio would be the strongest candidate. If the GOP-E want Trump to be absolutely validated in the worst possible way and give him the equivalent of a political nuclear device to use on them then they should go for it. Trump isn’t some chump that will acquiesce. He’ll expose the Mormon Superman to Trumptonite. If Obama could beat Romney does anyone doubt who would come out on top in a real world Romney Trump street fight. The only one that wins from this kind of crap is Hillary.
