911 call: Abortion being forced on scared teen at Kansas abortion facility
liveactionnews.org ^ | December 2 2015 | Kelli

On November 11, a mother of a teenage girl placed a call to 911 in Wichita, Kansas, after her daughter texted her stating that she had been taken to South Wind Women’s Center and was being forced her to abort her child against her will.

Operation Rescue reports:

According to the 911 recording and redacted police report, the girl’s mother called for help when she began receiving text messages from her daughter during normal school hours. The teen told her mom that she was being held against her will at the abortion clinic.

The teen was frightened when she was taken out of school by her father and grandmother, neither of which had legal custody of her at the time of the incident, according to the mother and the girl’s aunt, who also spoke with the 911 dispatcher. The girl told her aunt via text messages that she didn’t know where she was being taken until she arrived at the abortion clinic where her father had made an abortion appointment for her at 4:00 p.m. She continued to text her mom and her aunt that she wasn’t being given enough information by clinic staff and did not want to be there.

But when police arrived, abortion facility owner Julie Burkhart, who bought the building after the death of its previous owner (and her former employer), late-term abortionist George Tiller, denied the police entry into the building and refused to acknowledge whether or not the teen was even a patient:

“Upon arrival I contacted the director who advised she was aware of the situation but that there was not a situation. She refused to acknowledge whether the [the teen] was currently there or a patient. She also refused to speak to us while being recorded,” wrote Officer Atlee Vogt in his report.

A police sergeant soon arrived and instructed Officer Vogt to turn off his body camera, after which they once again attempted to speak with Burkhart.

“We attempted to recontact the director of the clinic after a long wait who refused to allow officers in and wouldn’t acknowledge whether [the teen] was there at the clinic,” Officer Vogt reported.

The fact that a minor was potentially being held at a clinic and forced to undergo a procedure she did not want is disturbing. Preventing police from entering is even more shocking. Operation Rescue’s Troy Newman stated, “Burkhart’s obstructionism of police officers attempting to check on the welfare of a teen that was being held against her will by clinic staff is a cause of grave concern.”

Burkhart, according to Operation Rescue, has a history of “lobby[ing] against common sense laws that provided late-term abortion limits, as well as safety standards and accountability for abortion clinics. She also opposed efforts by Attorney General Phil Kline to investigate the non-reporting of child sex abuse at Kansas abortion clinics.”

There is currently no word on whether the teen was released safely, or if she was forced to abort her child.

Ugh. I pray that the baby was not aborted, but it sure doesn’t sound good. Looks like the current owner of the abortion clinic is continuing the work of her predecessor.

How do you prevent police from entering a building exactly. In the day if I was called on a welfare check or possible abduction I went inside regardless and faded the fall out later.

Maybe they did get there in time and she was told to get out a side door or something.

But this seems the very picture of exigent circumstance. Police would have been within rights to SWAT the place.

This one doesn’t pass the smell test.
I find it hard to believe that a police officer would allow anyone to “block” his or her entry into an area where someone was being held against their will. Any LEO would have justification to enter with whatever force necessary.

The father and Granny who took her there did not have legal custody so how is this not kidnapping? She is held there against her will so how is this not false imprisonment? There must be other laws broken as well. Now you tell me the police can't save her??

Through sufficient buffalo, intimidation, and lies. The clout that a 2nd Amendment aficionado doesn’t have, PP has.

The context suggests PP objected on grounds of protecting patient “privacy.” That would explain how his chief made him turn off the body camera and again request admittance, but yeah, they should have just arrested the whole gang.

“This one doesn’t pass the smell test.”

Damn right and you know why? I think the father is the one who got her pregnant in the first place.

If the police had reports someone at the clinic was being held against their will, that is an alleged kidnapping, and that gives them the “imminent danger” cause they need to enter without a warrant. So why didn’t they?

That was my thought. Seems like the police would have insisted on entry or forced their way in, if they felt that someone was being held against their will or in danger. Sounds like there are missing pieces to the story.

So they can kidnap whoever they want, take them to their facility, then when the police arrive they are powerless to intervene on a distress call.

Yep, that sounds about right for this screwed up society.

I’m with you. I’ve been blessed with wonderful children and a houseful of grandchildren, all were living humans before birth, I saw them on the sonagrams, felt them move. These people are murderers.
