Word For The Day, Tuesday December 8, 2015
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
scop [skop]
-n
an Old English bard or poet.
[before 900; learned borrowing (19th century) of Old English scop; cognate with Old Norse skop mocking, Old High German skof derision]
That song reminds me of conversations with my mom in the early days of my divorce proceedings, a decade ago.
I heard it last saturday night, and raised a pint in Warren’s honor for a memorable tune. He’s not quite a skop, but it’s a decent tune nonetheless.
“Dad, get me out of this!”
I always liked that song.
Barack thinks he’s Shakespeare, a scop
His verbalizations don’t stop
But he’s not getting traction
From all talk and no action
Like a farmer, Barack’s full of crop
Obama is truly unfit
Thinks of himself as a wit
He has not a clue
Despite his hue
He’s a complete nitwit.
Cut the wrong line.....hmmm.
#ProTip When going burglaring, don’t wear a shirt with your name on it.

The morons posting after the article are arguing that pot or booze dulls senses. That’s like a pot v kettle debate.
Robbing a place you use to work at is a good way to be recognized on camera, too.
Today is the 14th anniversary of my dad’s death, and the 42d anniversary of Whyisa’s dad’s death.
xshub and I are going to be driving up to northern NJ this coming Saturday to attend the funeral of the mom of a good friend of mine. She died at age 96. It’s going to be a quick round trip [8 hours total drive] because Friday is xshub’s bday and Sunday is our Christmas party.
Didn’t young girls jumping merrily down the sidewalks ... Scopping innocently alone between the telephone polls of registered voters?
Always a tough day for me...even after all these years. I know it is for you as well.
yes, it is.
Sorry.
This is my first Christmas as an orphan. My sisters won’t be coming down to visit my mom, so I don’t know when I will see them.
It is hard to realize you are an orphan, regardless of how old you are. I hope that you will be able to get together with your sisters. it’s important to maintain close family ties.
It’s a HDO btw.
