I had a homeless guy come up to me once in Ann Arbor: "hey, can you spare me some money? I was in Viet Nam."
So I asked him, what unit he was in . . . he couldn't answer. So I asked him, what part of Viet Nam he served in . . . he couldn't answer. So I told him, "before you pull that vet BS on somebody, get your story together." I gave him nothing.

I had the pleasure of confronting some guy who was holding up a sign asking for money because he was a homeless 42 yr. old Vietnam vet. Never would I have thought to ask if he took VISA.

42 year old homeless Vietnam Vets can be trusted with your credit card. That's almost as good as the sign a 19 year old beggar was holding on a freeway on ramp two or three years ago. His neatly worded sign said "Desert Storm Vet, Homeless, Please Help". I was laughing so hard I almost wrecked my car.
