You see, malaria was eliminated in the West and North because of the invention, and use, of the miracle pesticide DDT. DDT could stop Zika, just as it stopped malaria. For that matter, it could also stop mosquito-borne dengue fever in Hawaii, which just declared a state of emergency due to the largest outbreak since the 1940s.

The victims of the resurgence of malaria are mostly black. To the Democrats (a party that pushes abortion, which disproportionately kills blacks) this is a feature, not a bug.

And draining standing water (i.e. swamps and stagnant ponds/lakes), try doing that on your on land and watch the Feds step in with a heavy fine (or worse).
Give DDT a chance, maybe it will also kill those nasty ticks.

Banning DDT, a completely harmless compound, guarantees the spread of insect born disease.
A 50’s Appalachia ballad says it all. “Ain’t no flies on Jesus ‘cause He’s sprayed with DDT.” DDT was used as a miracle cure for internal parasites for animals and children. A teaspoon of the chemical killed worms and other internal parasites without harming the patient.
Against the advice of the judge who investigated the case against DDT the Dept of Ag under LBJ outlawed DDT as a sop to environmentalists. Millions of children have needlessly died from disease since that black day.
Anyone else notice that the US and even certain states have far stricter laws about flowers and pets coming in with disease than PEOPLE?

My understanding was that it was under Nixon. It was banned in 1972. But you are right, there was no legitimate reason to ban it. It was banned simply because Nixon was trying to be nice to left wing wacko-kooks.
It didn't work. Also Millions of people died as a result.

Well, I’ve survived malaria and I’ve survived dengue. Not really sure I want to take on zika, too.
When I was a kid at the shore many decades ago, we’d walk thru clouds of DDT from the fogger trucks. Rachael C’s book galvanized the public to accept the ban and as a result in Africa millions died.
You are correct. DDT was banned by the newly created EPA under Nixon, one more illustration of the corruption of his administration. That liberals went after him tooth and tong speaks to the utter insanity of the Democrat party. He was the progenitor of the Uniparty.
