Ever dreamed of finding a message in a bottle? How about an intact sea-faring vessel?
A five-foot long toy boat called the âCarolina Dreamerâ washed up on the shores of Borth Beach and was discovered by Helen Hinks and her three-year-old son during a walk along the beach.
Hinks said her son spotted the boat and she went to retrieve it from the waves.
âIt felt quite magical really - it sailed right up to us so it felt as though there was something magical about it,â Hinks told the Wales News Service.

That’s so cool.
Toy boat toy boat toy boat... why is it so hard to say?
We were visiting Ireland just north of Dublin.
Somebody recommended we walk along some cliffs just outside of town and we could see Wales. I was sort of surprised. The narrowest point of the Irish Sea is 47 miles, but OK.
It wasn’t until a couple days later it dawned on me that they meant whales. (We didn’t see either.)
Calling what they have in the picture a sea-faring vessel seems a bit of an exaggeration.
I would say that it is closer to a piece of driftwood than a vessel.
They have filled the 'vessel' with foam making it nearly unsinkable.
I suppose this is an adequate experiment for Fourth Graders but it is not terribly realistic. Having the GPS tracker at least they can learn about ocean currents.
I’ve read a story about a shipment of rubber ducks that was lost in the ocean...those ducks have shown up in all corners of the globe, and even helped scientist understand the ocean currents better.
I did once... on the beach of Little Saint Simons Island in Georgia. The note was part of a school project written by some kid in South Carolina. I did write back as the note asked, but didn't hear anything back.
kids...they never write, never call.
The kid’s name was “Shanakia” so I never really expected a reply.
lol!
A childhood favorite.
Did you write in cursive?
I found one in Lake Michigan about 20 feet offshore between Port Sheldon and Grand Haven, MI. The note gave the sender’s home as being on the other side of the state. I thought to myself how that could not be, because any currents would run contrary to that, so I put the note back in the bottle, put the cap back on, and heaved it back into the lake for someone else to discover. That was some decades ago, so my recollection may bit a bit like Hillary’s.
Interesting.
So...the note wasn’t in cursive?
Gulf Stream effect.
