NAPLES (CBSMiami) – There are a lot of questions surrounding a cross-country trek from Wisconsin to Florida that may never be answered because it was actually a cat which made the journey.

Nadia is a Russian Blue cat who ran out of her owner’s home in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on Christmas Eve day. Her owners tried to find her but to no avail and they were heartbroken.

Fast forward to this week in Florida and Nadia is found by Michelle Richards of Naples.

Beautiful plumage on the Russian Blue...

She was just pining for the shuffle board courts.

That would explain the cat I saw in business class last week.

Russian Blues are supposed to be very smart cats.

But in previous cases like this the cat usually gets locked up in a moving truck.

Despite the presence of the microchip, the cat that showed up in Florida was unable to answer any questions asked by the Stockers back in Sheboygan which would have been known only to the real Nadia.

The investigation is ongoing. Identity theft is suspected.

No mystery here as there are many cars with Wisconsin license plates in and around Naples. Obviously the cat “hitched” a ride.

I’m not sure I could walk from WI to FL in two months, let alone in wintertime! One tough pussy!

That’s interesting.
You’d think part timers would want to be Fla residents and avoid that big income tax.

My understanding is that Tom from the Tom and Jerry cartoons is a Russian blue.

Did he escape using an oversized mallet?

avoid that big income tax.

We here in Cheeseland have a fraction of the problems Floridians do. And our cold weather keeps the BLM riff-raff out.

What I referred to was the part timers.

Here in Indiana, all our snow birds become Florida residents for tax purposes.

Whether they really live there > half time or lot, LOL.

1500 miles in approximately 60 days? That’s 25 miles per day. I doubt the poor cat walked it.

Smart cat. Decided to spend the winter in Florida; was probably planning on coming back after Spring Break anyway.

Maybe kitty was heading to S.C. to vote and missed an exit or three.

I once heard about a journey from Milan to Minsk. Maybe it was a movie. Or a musical.
