As far as I can tell, Donald Trump is an unprincipled vulgarian. He would make a big show of deporting illegal aliens, only to "let the good ones back in." He supports single-payer healthcare. Before he flipped on the issue, he wanted to admit tens of thousands of Syrian "refugees." He has very un-American strongman tendencies.
Yet he's leading in the Republican primaries. So please help me understand: How would President Trump be better than, say, President Cruz?
If you are arguing that putting up a pair of first term Senators for the highest executive office in the world is the best way to go ... well ... enough said.
I think that’s it. Most of the GOP field has zero credibility. Trump has about 1% credibility. That’s the GOP we have built for the last thirty years. It’s where we’re at. I take no pleasure in that, but there you go.

No. You're just trying to plausibly undermine credibility.
NO candidate gives comprehensive details for ANY plan they propose. Most Americans wouldn't have the background to properly evaluate said plan even if they did. And they damn sure wouldn't have the sophistication to discriminate between "the plan" and what the opponents of the plan would promulgate by way of "damage control" and/or oblique attack.
But in reality, you're coming at this the wrong way; it's not that people trust Trump to do what he promises, it's that they trust the others NOT to do what they promise.

Initially, I did not support him. Then I discovered that he had all the right enemies, The Establishment Republicans, the media, the traitors to America, etal. If they all hate him, he must be doing something right.
