I’m not sure he was; I thought he had medical deferments.

I did not know Tump was a draft dodger.

He wasn't, it was back in the sixties and he failed the physical.

Uh oh. It's starting to sound like Trump's Tidal Wave has pretty much reversed course over the past couple of days.

The Trump Banshees have been shouting down Cruz supporters for weeks now, but the volume of pro-Cruz postings is increasing exponentially. Looks like a building victory for reason over rhetoric.

He wasn’t! He at first had a college deferment. So did I and millions of others. Then when he did take the physical, they found bone spurs on his heel. Probably would have needed surgery. A deferment. I was also deferred for a medical reason. Not uncommon.

To put this ad into perspective, change the name from Trump to Clinton then compare who gets the most criticism..........

I am a Cruz supporter, but I try to evaluate charges against Trump fairly. The racism charges were pure rubbish and made me sick as I am sick of Republicans being called racist.

This ad is pretty darn accurate. Bone spurs really? Too many vets were so willing to get into wars they even lied about their ages and disabilities to get in. Bone spurs?

Based on that Chicken Donald should call himself a loser.

You could find dozens of decorated veterans who opposed President Reagan, if you searched hard enough, but that was no reason to vote against him. Trump and Cruz both do well with veterans. I’m going to ignore these silly ads. [Cruz is my first choice, but not because Trump was never in uniform - neither was Cruz, Rubio, Hillary, or Bernie.]

We are still pulling the knife out of our backs that have McCain's name on it. Where were these gentlemen during the Clinton and Obama administration?

As a 20 plus years retiree I am calling them out.

““Donald Trump hasn’t served this country a day in his life, essentially dodged the draft in Vietnam through multiple deferments”

First, most eligible men didn’t serve in the VN war. And secondly, the service Trump performed by derailing Bush’s campaign is much more important than my service. (And I served in VN)

Deferments Helped Trump Dodge Vietnam

Scroll down the the 7th paragraph and it starts telling about all the deferments he got.

No offense but what do I care what some retired military personal thinks of Donald Trump? We don’t live in a military dictatorship.

No there there.

Trump had college deferments.(Like a bazillion other people)
Graduation = no more deferments.
He was reclassified 1A and in 1968 went for a physical and was classified 1Y.
The draft turned into a lottery 12/01/69 and was based on birtday.
Trump’s number was 356. That number would never have been called to be drafted.

Someone should ask that Vietnam vet how he feels about the trade deal that gives those commies he was fighting access to US markets in exchange for a promise not to pollute their own country.
