"I was wrong about Trump. He's got MOXIE."
Wikipedia, and un-citeabe Salon ^ | 03/10/16 | 50sdad

Posted on 03/10/2016 5:34:22 PM PST by 50sDad

I think Paglia on Salon may be unlinkable, so I just pulled up the Wikipedia link, for a word she used in her article, cited on Drudge, today...so here goes...

I am a news and political junkie, as most know. I have watched Donald Trump’s rise and been amused by how the masses embrace him, and the Elites fear him. Today, in a web article, I bumped into a word that has fallen out of favor...and is rushing back at us, bigtime:

Moxie.

A footnote to history, mostly. A soft-drink that modeled itself as being the Zip, the Flash, the Next Big Thing. And for a time, it was synonymous with AMERICAN, in bold caps. When the Greatest Generation saved the world from the Nazis because, Duh, they were evil and it needed to be done; when we were sure that of COURSE our Western culture was better, when we knew who we were...we had Moxie.

JFK had it when he committed us to landing on the moon. Reagan had it in bunches when he lay the foundation to bring down the Berlin Wall. It was Morning in America, and most of us smelled the bacon.

We come from seven years of bowing to tyrants, flushing “green” money into fake companies, and apologizing for America. But somebody is saying, “Screw this...I want American greatness back.”

I prefer Cruz as a rational planner. I want him for VP or Executive Adviser, and I tell you...if Trump wins it, he’s going to be smart enough to hire the best to do the things he knows he needs help with. But you scared Canada-bound Liberals, you trembling intellectuals, you East-Coast socialists and West-Coast “celebrities”, you entrenched Republican elites and soon-to-be-indicted Democrats...it’s coming back.

Moxie.

Paglia on Cruz and Trump...

“Trump with his pragmatic real-life record is a far more palatable national figure than Ted Cruz, whose unctuous, vainglorious professions of Christian piety don’t pass the smell test. Trump is a blunt, no-crap mensch, while Cruz is a ham actor, doling out fake compassion like chopped liver. Cruz’s lugubrious, weirdly womanish face, with its prim, tight smile and mawkishly appealing puppy-dog eyebrows, is like a waxen mask, always on the verge of melting. This guy doesn’t know who the hell he is—and the White House is no place for him and us to find out.”

I will vote Cruz in the Primary, because I think he is actually smarter, and will vote for either in the General. If Trump is forced out in a brokered convention, the GOPe can go to hell.

I admit, I have no idea who this person is, but as Slim Pickens said in Blazing Saddles, “She uses her mouth purtier than a $20 whore.”

Moxie was the worst drink ever created in the history of man.

I can still remember the last time I tasted it——in the early 1940s.

Yuk !

You, too can get Moxie at Galco's Old World Market in Highland Park, Calif., a neighborhood in Northeast LA.

I remember trying Moxie when I was a kid.

It was supposed to be good for you but was not very tasty. Sort of strong bitter taste. It took a lot of Moxie to drink it.

If memory serves....
Moxie had twice (or maybe three X) the caffeine of other soft drinks...
The would have made it the Jolt Cola of its day....

She’s a twisted fruitcake, but if you like “provocative”, knock yourself out.
