To Rise From The Earth, Have Sex And Die I wish that this would happen to the Earth Muffins and other Environmentalists. They would go happy.

There is a 13 year cicada that emerged from the ground here in Tennessee back in 2011 and 1998. They are loud and annoying and fill up the trees but harmless. My dog used to eat them as if they were treats.

In the lake valley woods of central Missouri we have the tree frogs that start in late March or early April. Millions of the little buggers.
On years when we have the cicadas as well, it is deafening with them both together after sunset.

I dont think of cicadas as pests. I thjink theyre cool and I love the noise they make.
This ain't no phenomenon, virtually every year they emerge, some areas more than others..........
I too love their sound and along with fresh sweet corn, tomatoes and other fall stuff, they signal the onset of fall and the upcoming winter...........

The big problem was getting all those teeny weenie bowling balls for them. Then the cicadas all died and left them all behind.

Have to put ‘em storage for the next go ‘round.

Asian woman eats baby bird while gardening OMG
She actually did.
This is alien sh!t. Not, "not from this country," but "not from this PLANET."
That was one of the ugliest things I've ever seen.

Chances are that in the frenzy of mating, even the below below-average cicadas still get a chance at the orgy.

They’re part of summer here in Ohio. At least they aren’t Mayflies! Those things are terrible!

I remember when I was a young child that it was cool to find the empty shells clinging to the pine bark.
