I’ve spent a lot of time looking at the Trump vs. Hillary polling data on RCP. What is clear as a bell is that Hillary was doing OK against Trump pretty much from the get-go right up until the end of March 2016.
If you average the 10 RCP polls listed between March 3 and March 31 2016 you find that Hillary was averaging about a 10 point lead over Trump in that period.
That’s a big lead. Trump and Cruz were going at it Big Time and there were lots of negative stories on Trump. Hillary was hardly in the news.
But starting about April 1st it started to move in Trump’s favor and that movement continues. Also Big Time. The Cruz-Trump War is (effectively) over and the GOP is making piece while the Dems are starting to really fret about Hillary’s Electability.
And, perhaps most importantly, Trump was finally getting a professional team together led (IMHO) by Paul Manafort.
So I’m going to keep beating my Obama Plan B Drum. If things turn much further South for Hillary then Obama and the Dems are going to look elsewhere. Getting rid of Hillary would only take about 30 seconds of Obama on the phone with Loretta Lynch. After that it’s all Biden or Bernie or some secret pal of Obama’s.

Do you think, perhaps, that Hillary is floating the idea of Bill being her co-president (essentially his third term) as a means of preparing the public mind for another presidential spouse (Michelle O.) to step in as a relief candidate?

My wife, who can’t stand Trump, puts it like this... “I’m scared of Hillary, and there’s no way I’ll vote for her. At least it’ll be a good show going down with Trump!” Not the best of reasons to vote for him, but I’ll take it. And I think there are many millions who will use the same logic.

It will be interesting to see when those odds change.
However, I think the long shot of Biden at 33/1 might work out if the last minute substitutions happen.
Understatement of the year. Remember, Donald Trump knows a lot of the same people who have personally known the Clintons since they moved to the New York City area since 2000, and you know Trump will starting dribbling out tidbits about Hillary that will eventually sink her candidacy.

That’s the story the public has. It’ll make her look like a loyal American doing her duty to save us from the fascist pig Trump. It’s all TV drama quality.
Exactly! Many here have been saying same for quite some time, but it’s closer to reality now that polls are starting to turn. They will not let her be nominee, or not for long! It will be an indictment or suicide, I don’t think they can or will try to sell she or Bill are suddenly ill, but others have thought that plausible as well.
