These are the people we should remember on Memorial Day. Hard fighting. Up close and personal, at a big cost.

The movie was based on the book We Were Soldiers Once, and Young, a true story well worth reading.

Growing up, I had wondered why LTC Lefebvre, the father of some of my schoolmates, had a gimpy arm. After reading the book, I wondered no longer.

I had the privilege of meeting both LTG (Ret) Moore and Mr. Galloway at a book signing at the Pentagon in 1992. I was too young to have been there, but I went with an office mate who’d been there, also in th First Team, and the ties really do bind. RIP CSM Plumley, and all the others gone too soon.

I agree. Better than the movie.

I live in the town where Lt. Col Crandall grew up, Olympia WA.

He would be shocked, and I suspect mad as hell, if he saw the today cesspool of anarchists, communists, and punk sh^ts that live here amidst outright drug riddled streets. This is one of the most liberal cities on the West Coast, if not country.

Other than that, I don’t have much of an opinion of the town.
