To me Richard Simmons was a harmless and self effacing, funny effeminate guy who found his niche in society by appealing to over weight women and offering them a means to weight loss via his fun filled aerobics videos........
I wish him no ill will and hope he is not suffering from anything more serious than this dehydration problem........
If I could offer him one piece of advice it would be "Richard, get rid of those damn shorts!".....

I happened to see him once, about 20 years ago, going through security at an airport. He was dressed as always... the shorts, the whole bit. He went prancing through the process, everyone in the whole terminal could hear him. He was bouncing all around, he was yapping non-stop.
I guess it's not just an act... he's that way all the time.
