I’ve heard this morning there’s been 26 gator attacks since 1946 (approximate). But that doesn’t stop the Left and the helicopters from circling hysterically. I even heard Laura Ingraham’s fill in screaming about this.

A tragedy no doubt but if the sign says ‘No Swimming’ it means no swimming.

most attacks seem to involve drunk people falling into canals after dark.

Anyone in Florida (resident or tourist) that enters a body of water takes a risk of an encounter with a shark (ocean) or alligator (inland). Heck, they’re on most of the golf courses. Florida is the third most populous state with millions visiting each year. I don’t think this is an epidemic by any means.

It's a lot more than that. Disney loads their "beaches" on this lagoon/lake with lawn chairs and recliners as if it is a safe place to sit during the day or at night watching the fireworks. We've done it numerous times. This set up might cause me to let my guard down, especially if I'm from Nebraska and don't fully understand the threat gators can pose, and let my kid wade in the edge of the water. That's not "swimming."

Just a week earlier, a family was chased off their lounge chairs at the next resort over (Polynesian) by a large alligator that came flying out of the water after their young daughter. They reported the event to Disney and they did nothing. There are no warnings when you check into these hotels and a simple sign telling you not to swim is hardly adequate. This tragedy could have easily been prevented. Every park in Florida has signs warning people that there are gators in the water and to keep a safe distance. Disney does not do this and should absolutely be held liable. This horrific event will, no doubt, bring about different policies. Too bad it took the grisly death of a 2 year old to make them do what should have been done lone ago, if not at least a week ago.
